Very surprised Art's total went down from the last election. Guess I can cross off Oregon as a liberty stronghold. Hopefully Art will continue his lawsuit.

Another bummer. Goes to show that we need Liberty Democrats to run in Democrat strongholds.

Sad but not unexpected. Hard to preform better in a democrat leaning disctrict in a presidential year.

Yep, many voters don't even care about issues, they will just pull the lever for the D or R depending on what party they are.

Tough to run as a liberty Democrat, you can't really get up there pretending to be a liberal and start talking about economic freedom. People will see through it.

I'd say the DeVazio lies & false ads are what contributed mostly to Art's lower totals. Hope Art triumphs on the suit and can win it next time. Word is that DeVazio likely won't run again and once his chicanery is exposed, he'll be done for sure.

Do the reverse Rand. Everyone loves having their taxes lowered. Free Staters living in Manchester, New Hampshire, a Democratic stronghold, have been elected to the State House as Democrats. Find out what people in a district care about that you agree with and go with that. Look at the Ron Paul Mayor kid. He won by talking about how the last Mayor wasn't paying attention to the people in the town regarding sidewalks.

That's why they would talk about ending the wars, ending the war on drugs, civil (Bill of) Rights, freedom, and responsible government.

Many such people get elected in NH. They are usually elected to lower positions like town budget board. However, at least 3 pro-liberty Democratic state reps were just elected in NH. For 1 of them, it is his 3 time to be elected as a NH state rep.

I just don't see a liberty Democrat winning a competitive primary for US Congress anywhere in the US. If that happened. If would likely be in a very GOP leaning district.

First, I cannot believe how many left-stoopid people there are in Oregon. Makes me almost ashamed to admit I once lived there.

I became acquainted with Art Robinson years ago when his troubles and those with his son started at the university. He appears to me to be a righteous man and I have always supported him. When he announced his candidacy I was glad of it and wished him all the best. His opponent is a scumbag and yet he trounced Art - an indication of the quality of character of so many in Oregon. Portland is the microcosm of left-leaning Oregon. The insane things that people believe never ceased to amaze me. They are well-meaning people, but they are very seriously detached from reality. I was surprised at Art's defeat, to be honest, because when I lived in Portland all I ever heard from the lefties was how run-over the state was with red necks and other undesirables. I have a friend in Pacific City, ultra-lefty but not a bad person, and he would go on and on about the rednecks out in Tilllamook. I'm not sure what Oregon he lives in but apparently it was not the same one I did because the entire western half, where one finds Tillamook, is lefty-logged.

Anyhow, a sad day for Oregon, IMO and for freedom.

I was really hoping to see him win this time, but those results are worse than previous. On the positive side, I'm sure he inspired a local movement there that will begin running for other offices that can move up to the federal level offices in the future. In a way he was a microcosim of Ron Paul running, possibly building up a liberty base there for future victories I would like to think.

Oregon is essentially California Minor in most areas. I'm not really surpised by those results. The whole Northwest along the coast is infected.
