What if somebody has a picture of their kid in the bathtub? Are they getting turned over to the feds?
It doesn't actually analyze the picture. It's comparing your pictures to known pictures of child porn which are part of a central database.
This won't catch someone who is actually producing their own child porn. Instead, it will catch people who are downloading child porn from the internet and keeping it on their phone to jerk off to it.
Does anyone actually believe this is about kiddy porn anyway?
Some people probably do.
Child molestation and child pornography seem to be the hot-button issues of the day that can serve as a justification for literally anything, in much the same way that terrorism served as the justification for all sorts of innumerable evils earlier in the 2000s.
