AP reports Maine GOP will refuse to count votes in the delayed caucuses

Every vote counts.

NOT.

Proven time and time again, state after state, during this primary season by the corrupt GOP. A couple inches of snow, votes lost for entire precincts, last minute caucus/delegate moves, rewriting rules at the last minute, stickers on ballots, etc.

It is shameful. Dishonest. Appalling to any honest person. They should all be embarrassed to claim to stand for anything but what they are- sellouts of the highest order. The GOP stands for deception, corruption and sleight of hand. Hope they're proud. They have no reason to fear RP supporters, they've ruined the party all by themselves. WTG, GOP. They should be begging us to help. Talk about a snake eating its own tail.

the only thing shadier than the GOP is the media memory hole.

Alert, alert, remove all talk of 'controversial decision to not count votes'. Alert!

The GOP will fail to win the white house election after election until they shape up. I will make it my lifetime goal to cause them distress.

No One But PAUL!

When the Iowa vote was recounted, Santorum won.
When the Maine votes were fully counted...oh, wait...

I could be wrong, but as I understand it, the caucuses had two votes: One for delegates and one for the [essentially meaningless] Feb 4 - 11 straw poll. I think they're going to still be counting the votes for the delegates, just not for the straw poll. If so, we can still win the important part, the delegates.

But we needed to stop the "But he can't even win a state..." arguments. It's destroying our poll numbers nationally.

By "him" I meant the chair, not RP.

My point is that when an elected leader does something really indefensible, they get pulled down. This was a bitter decision that thousands of RP grassroots will not forgive. Assuming they *stay* in the party, the current Maine chair will have a hard time winning elections .... for anything.

Do you really want to piss off 1/3 of the party base, who know how to navigate the caucuses? Just sayin'

this this this!! Vote the bastards OUT!

If you have not signed up to be a precinct committeeman in your locale - YOU SUCK!!!

Even if we do have enough delegates to the national convention, how do we know there won't we any "improvised" counting methods!?

Even if the Maine GOP refuses to report the new results, Washington County will report them. If we can take Washington County by more than 196 votes over Romney, we can publicize that and effectively force them to admit Ron Paul won Maine.

Problem is, I don't know if they will even take the second vote. First vote is for delegates, second is for the straw poll. If they skip the straw poll half it won't matter.

The votes after today won't be counted.

Webster said any caucus results that come in after Saturday wouldn't be counted no matter how close the vote turned out to be.

"Some caucuses decided not to participate in this poll and will caucus after this announcement," Webster said. "Their results will not be factored in. The absent votes will not be factored into this announcement after the fact."

I just read the comments from a Bangor,Maine newspaper website. This one caught my eye in particular:

"As a 14 year member of the Maine GOP I am calling for the resignation of Charlie Webster as the State Chairman. It is clear as day that voter fraud happened and for him to give the victory to Mitt Romney without considering the votes of the GOP members in Washington County, half of Hancock County and many of the smaller town in the State shows that Mr. Webster is nothing but a hack that needs to be replaced." http://bangordailynews.com/2012/02/...ys-mitt-romney-wins-caucuses/?ref=regionstate

Yes, wgadget, but that is referring to areas that chose to caucus after today's date. Washington County I think should not fall under that restriction because it was postponed, not scheduled for a late date.

CNN is reporting the results at 87% "complete". Will CNN update their own totals, even if the state GOP does not? (Assuming Washington county holds the straw poll at all at this point.)

I see the state GOP losing face no matter how this plays out.

Take the vote and Paul wins. FAIL.
Take the vote and Romney wins. FAIL. "What were you so afraid of?"
Refuse to take the vote at all. FAIL. "What is wrong with you people? The grassroots wants to know the results."
