Anyone see the Clemson poll in Politico?

I thought from looking at the poll that they only polled GOP as well, but I wasn't sure.

However, it is an outlier.

We'll find out tomorrow.

we need to phone from home in the morning.

WOW i am now very Angry :mad:
In this Republican primary election for President, is there a candidate you know that you could NEVER
support?

(DO NOT READ NAMES, JUST RECORD)
Mitt Romney ................................................................ 6%
Rick Perry .................................................................... 5%
Newt Gingrich ........................................................... 13%
Ron Paul ..................................................................... 35%

And just why you wont support him? IS IT BECAUSE THE MAINSTREAM TOLD YOU SO?

that number will change

I saw another poll that was post debate and had Paul @ 20% and less than 8 points off the lead IIRC, wish I could find it. Seems the local polls (non-MSM) are counting a lot more Paul voters than the major ones.

No wonder when we phone from home we get angry people.. that isn't a poll, it's a frickin test! After that test, they don't want to talk to anyone else!

I know what you mean. I just talked to my friend though who really hates politics, and he said he would register to vote if RP is on the ballot. Most people on here know this, but its awesome that RP is bringing out new votes. They finally see someone they can vote for without feeling like a sell out. There is nothing wrong with not voting when your options are between two shades of the same thing.

55% were retired

My friends on why younger people are not voting as much as old people "we are too busy working"
I know its not the best excuse, but there is truth in that. Most younger people are worried about survival/advancement and find little time to focus on politics, and even less to go out to vote.

There was a post Ron Paul New Hampshire Primary victory poll taken in South Carolina where Paul got 20%.
http://www.ronpaulforums.com/entry.php?530-Paul’s-New-Hampshire-Bump

The American Research Group polls before and after the New Hampshire Primary showed a jump from 9% to 20% for Ron Paul in South Carolina.

Only 4% were under 40, only 1% were under 30, and 0% were under 25.

And they call this a scientific poll. ROFL.

Yup I don't know what to believe anymore. Seems like even these polls have a tactical value in trying to make Ron Paul's SC support look lower than it is. The media blackout of course is also part of this.

This is what state control of the media is like, folks. If we don't stop it here, the next chance is a long long way off.

And 92% are conservative. What a joke.

Laugh all you want. Ron Paul ultimately has to win over the conservative vote if he's going to win the Republican nomination. He can do it, if he reframes some of his positions so that they understand him.

And since it is older Americans who actually vote, perhaps you should refrain from insulting the hell out of them. Ya think? You do realize this is an open forum, don't you?

LE is the defender of old people, guys, don't talk bad about them when he is around, else he will hunt you down, tie you up, and force you to watch reruns of Matlock, Golden Girls, and Murder She Wrote, with your eye lids clamped open, a la Clockwork Orange :D

Or we can get better turnout among the young people. I'm not sure which is the tougher challenge, really.

Simple math shows that we can't win on the youth vote. When you say that there are 30,000 college students in a town, take into account that a lot of those may be registered out-of-state or are from foreign nations. Also, you are assuming that every single one is going to be a Paul supporter,, when we all know that campuses are a hot bed of progressive activity. e.g. Ralph Nader, Occupy

The Youth Vote is a nice compliment, but it doesn't win elections. Most of the improved numbers for Ron Paul in the polls comes from nice increases in the 30-55 bracket and some modest improvement among seniors.

I think that instead of whining about old people that we should do something contructive like push for a Santa Rita or Rev Pac ad that shows how Ron Paul is the only one who will preserve social security and medical care for the seniors without cuts while also not harming the young.
