Recently somebody on here, can't remember who, posted that they wrote Doug Wead on facebook about a possible change in campaign tactic from the "warn about declining liberty" to a more Reagan like "morning in America". Basically the user was arguing that Ron Paul should talk about the great benefits of liberty. I completely agree with this but the point is that if we can't contact the campaign then it will be hard to influence the campaign. Has anybody else had any experience of getting in touch with the campaign?

This way we could all make a more concerted effort to reach out to the campaign about any particular idea in the future.

I think the campaign is doing fabulous, as opposed to how it was run in 07/08. We should just let them do what they believe is best to reach the voters. Doug Wead seems to really know what he's doing. Wanna reach the campaign? Donate and then tell everyone on every social media you know that the campaign needs their help to compete in Florida

I've gotten a response from Doug but that was because he was doing a live chat on Facebook. That's your best bet

I'm getting a serious case of deja vu. Did this exact thread not happen four years ago?

Of course liberty is better. Why do you think losing it scares us so much? Yes, it's all well and good to do the feel good thing, but while it is pleasant and gives people good feelings toward you, it doesn't exactly motivate them to get their asses down to the county headquarters and become delegates. Does it?

If we owned the media, we might be able to do it all the feel good way. But, as it is, the military industrial complex owns the media. Seriously. GE owns NBC and Westinghouse owns CBS. Just for starters. So, we can't blanket the airwaves with feelgood Dr. Phil nonsense, and must use what attention we can get to talk turkey. Period.

I'd be happy to email Doug Wead for you. Just as soon as someone puts something up that's worth a moment of his busy day. This, however, isn't it. When the economy is in the toilet, people aren't going to feel good. Yes we do need to explain how giving them liberty will enable them to fix the economy themselves. Yes we do. But we need to do that by talking turkey. Otherwise, the reaction will be this:

What he said. Sorry.

He's really pretty accessible. No need for acptulsa to play gate keeper - just email him on his FB account.

Perhaps not. But you couldn't get his actual email address out of me if you waterboarded me.

Someone on the forums (who shall rename nameless) was kind enough to give me his email address when I had serious concerns about the good Doctor not mentioning the foreign policy experts that both agree with and endorse him when being grilled on FP.

Wead agreed and promised to share this view with Ron. It obviously didn't do much good. Or maybe Ron's waiting to unleash this info (most likely against Frothy) during the next debate.

The Michael Scheuer endorsement is such a sweet one.

They read these boards.

There is a whole section of the forums for campaign suggestions. They may not take every suggestion, but they are responsive to good ideas.

Yep the campaign is good people. They do read what people post here and are open to the good suggestions, I've noticed them taking feedback from here and applying it.

I kinda have a pet peeve of the people who post making demands though. Ron Paul/campaign MUST do this to win  is getting old.

More like channelling Matt Collinz.

Ouch.

If that's really true, just come shoot me.

Very. I'm glad people feel involved, but come on. Every idea could use a little vetting before being passed along to people who are very, very busy at the moment.

You know, the basic message is definitely something we need to emphasize. No one can micromanage your life better than you can. Simple enough. But I don't know if the recycled Reagan rhetoric, good as it sounds, really puts the emphasis where it needs to be.

Paul's 'Freedom is popular!' on the other hand, really does. And it feels pretty good too. Can we really improve upon it?
