London is collapsing
Oxford Street in London, England saw a TikTok inspired flash looting incident just 5 days after New York City, in the US had a similar riot take over their streets. But how does Social Media like Tik Tok encourage this behavior, and who stands to gain from it.

San Francisco in a nutshell.

I pass well over a hundred drug users every morning, including many milling about outside our hospital and parking garage. I care for them when they land in our hospital and I’m proud to do that work.

But the city refuses to revoke sanctuary protections for the drug dealers fueling the crisis. It won’t enforce basic laws that could restore order.

And yet, when I stop for less than a minute to pick up my son from daycare, I get ticketed for not curbing my wheels on a 5% grade.

Lawlessness is tolerated. The law abiding are penalized.

"Those who have lost everything have nothing to lose."

The punishments of the State are tuned to terrorize the suburbanite who has plenty that the State can seize from them. Those who are either expunged by the System or voluntarily choose to exist outside the System are almost unreachable by the System. Even jail doesn't frighten them since they have no fear of being fed, clothed and sheltered on the public dime in jail (a fate so horrifying to a typical suburbanite, in many cases they would rather die, literally). Until their crimes reach extreme proportions (daylight murder or sex-crimes) nothing will be done about them, and sometimes nothing will be done even when their crimes are of extreme proportion -- homeless stabbings of homeless are almost ignored by police other than scooping up the body and having it transported to the morgue.

This is a two-way street, however. Those who have nothing to be seized also have nothing to lose. I'll let the creative thinker fill in the details...
