StackExchange provides an innovative platform for question and answer sites that Google has typically favored in search results. The first sites they made were only for software developers, sysadmins, and web developers. They have slowly been expanding the topics they cover through a community managed process and they are about to get an Economics Q&A site.

I'm not generally a proponent of online discussion activism, but what is different about SE Q&A sites is they attract people who are looking for answers and the Q&A format keeps any discussion strictly on topic, as well as favoring those who spend time to create well thought out replies with good format and citations. This is why Google favors the SE sites in search results.

I encourage those interested in helping people better understand economics to join the site and commit to the Economics Q&A site.
