Allow the real-time spending of the campaign finances to be seen publicly.

The addition of the real-time widget for the internet fund-raising was a successful strategy that will likely change the way future political campaigns are run. Now imagine taking this one giant step further and showing the public how, when, and where the money is being spent.

This would be an unprecedented ethical and political message regarding Ron Paul’s belief in government transparency and further demonstrate his disassociation with special interest groups.

But most importantly this move would, once again, show how powerful the free market of ideas can be. Pull out all the stops.

Advantages? Disadvantages?

Would be great, but a lot of work and expense.

This is a terrible idea.

What you're talking about is basically handing over your strategy book to your rivals, letting them know EXACTLY where and how much they need to counter you.

I thought about the problem of showing your hand, but it isn't like the strategies are that big a secret. We all know what Rudy is doing, for example. We all know which states the candidates are spending time and money in.

It's the gesture of the complete openness that I'm talking about. And the ideas it would unleash.
