Gary Johnson "A wasted vote is voting for someone you don't believe in."

I go back and forth on this in my mind every day.

I want people to vote their conscience. Yet I also selfishly want everyone to make the biggest impact ever on the status qou vote this election year.

So I start thinking that if we all vote for Johnson it will make the most impact.

Voting my conscience is voting Ron Paul no matter what. Write in or not. Yet Johnson is closer to Paul the Obama or Romney. I don't want to succumb to the same old "split the vote" between Paul and Johnson scare tactics that are usually always left to the republicans and democrats every time.

I am not even sure Johnson is on every state ballot as well. Is someone making a map where we can see how many states allow Johnson on the ballot or write ins?

One thing I am sure of is that no other candidate or party has the same influence in politics at the ground level as the Ron Paul revolution/liberty movement.

The delegate strategy showed that the movement can change things so drastically that rules and laws are being changed on a national level as a result.

They want to put more locks on the doors so this kind of influence can be contained. Everyone should fight that.

How I personally want to vote is Ron Paul. Maybe we could still see the overall impact if they counted the write in votes added to the Johnson votes. Yet I wonder how often they count write in votes? I have heard that they do not count them unless the election is close.

I just read today that he is on the ballot in 47 states. It will most likely be 49 before the election with Oklahoma being the odd ball.

I already voted for Ron Paul... now I'm voting for Gary.. I don't have to agree with him on everything but he's 90% good.

Quick question. Did Ron Paul actually say to support Johnson this election or is that internet myth?

I only ask since I seem to have a mental reference to this but no actual link to a quote.

Ron Paul hasn't come out and endorsed or asked people to support Johnson (and apparently will not), though he's said some positive things...

Paul struck a conciliatory tone when asked if Libertarian Party nominee Gary Johnson was an acceptable choice for his fans.

“Might be, I tell people to look at his record and he certainly has a lot of libertarian views. They should make up their own mind,” he said.

Paul said this of the former New Mexico governor: “I think he’s wonderful and I think he’s doing a good job and people should look at him and every individual should make up their own mind.”

“Everybody’s been aware of it, even during the last campaign,” says Paul, whom Johnson informed of his intentions in April 2008. “I don’t remember when anybody didn’t assume that he would run for president.” Fortunately for Johnson, Paul, while not ruling out a second act, has shown little appetite for one. (“I have made no plans,” he told me.) And if he doesn’t run, he’ll “most likely” throw his weight behind Johnson. “I can’t imagine endorsing anybody else,” he says. The path, then, looks clear for Gary Johnson to become the Ron Paul of 2012...

No and I don't think he will.... because of his son's Republican career.... yay for party politics.

That bit about Ron not endorsing because of Rand's career is a meme started and promoted by political enemies. it is a ridiculous notion. ron endorsing johnson would only help rand's influence in the gop.
