I agree with Ron Paul on almost everything, however, I was originally skeptical of his proposal to cut research funds. Then I considered for a moment the following:

- These federal research funds are distributed by the same instrument that has bailed out banks, and crafted regulation favorable to big business.
- With these cuts the money does not disappear, it remains in control of the states' and the people. This offers states a chance to direct research funds in a manner advantageous to their state.
