Apathetic pot smokers!
The more I think about it, the more brilliant it seems. The majority of people I run into (and actually speak with) these days are either out-and-out tokers, or closeted. I believe they all would like very much to cut the paranoia from their lifestyle decision. Imagine if we could get every smoker to register and vote in the primaries. This is a MASSIVE swath of the population that, by and large, won't vote (because they are hip, they know it is usually a choice between fascist and Baby-fascist.
We can at the least let them know that hey, here is the only candidate that understands what you understand, namely that drugs are a socio-medical issue, and should NOT be subjected to gestapos and hugely expensive, ineffectual, downright insulting PR.
Issue by Issue is how we will gain on them. Like a good game of Jenga.

I think Mike Gravel has taken the vote for that group. He has said he would make marijuana available legally in liquor stores nationwide, doesn't come near Ron Paul's plan to keep it at the state level, even though it's the best way to do it.

Don't hesitate to recruit...

I've been promoting RP to them and other single issue groups. Don't hesitate to recruit them, Gravel isn't going to stop their income tax, he'll increase IT !!! It's like the DOC said to win we have to build coalitions among many groups!!!

"The Art of Politics is to bring people together, it's not to be divisive...You have to bring coalitions together, there's no doubt about it..," Ron Paul, May 19, 2007 Austin, TX Fundraiser..

When it comes to a campaign

Don't ever EXCLUDE, only INCLUDE !!!!!!!

Last time I went to my head shop I gave one of the regular employee's about 5 info cards and had a brief chat about his stance, hopefully it'll get circulated.

print up RP baggies

haha, some should print up RP baggies...

Should only fall into the "right" hands and a few cops.

Legalize Plants.

Not all tokers are apathetic; there is a large contingent of cannabis activists, that's why most western states have Medical Marjuana Laws.

We need to get NORML on board, that's easy given Steve Kubby's endorsement.
Not to mention Marc Emery and his lovely, hot wife (look for her famous Ron Paul ad).

Besides NORML, there are many other large communities that desire freedom of choice for all entheogens. MAPS and the psychedelic hippies love peace and freedom.

i think steve hager, editor of high times has already endorsed ron paul. ron paul also appears on the list of 420 friendly canidates posted by norml. there is some talk about ron paul on 420 type forums, but not a whole lot. I think the politically active among them have usually voted democrat or libertarian. It's still a huge part of the population, and with the presidental powers, it would be easy to pardon anyone convicted of a non-violent crime, and drastically cut funding to the dea. Getting it legalized would be a little bit harder, but there's a lot that a president can do to eliminate, or at least reduce the drug war.

Also sealing up borders would go a long ways to stopping harder drugs, which i think many people are scared of.
