Overall, compared to the 70's it was more fun and interesting. There was certainly much more variety of music you could listen to. Don't like what they are playing now? Maybe you will like the next song on the radio or MTV. There was light and peppy and dark- and sometimes peppy. Yeah, it did burn itsself out and had to go away.
