6.3 quake hits off Argentina

"WASHINGTON (Reuters) - An earthquake of 6.3 magnitude struck off the southern coast of Argentina on Sunday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The quake was centered about 220 miles (354 km) southeast of Ushuaia, Argentina, at a depth of 13 miles (21 km), USGS said. It struck at 8 a.m. local time (1200 GMT).

There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries. No tsunami warnings were issued by the West Coast and Alaska Tsunami Warning Center or the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center."

To be expected, honestly. Haiti, Venezuela, Argentina...

I don't think we'll see another anywhere near as bad as what happened in Haiti, of course; that was the "perfect storm" combination of construction, population density, quake intensity, quake type, etc..
 
I saw something a few weeks ago about it - scientists are seeing evidence that such a shift may be coming.
 
Don't think so, Time, at least not based on the stuff I saw. Can't remember which program or channel, one of the sciencey ones. I remember they were talking about the impact it would have on migration patterns, especially of birds.

They showed some guy who goes into bat caves, plucks down a bat from its perch, then he takes it miles away and puts it in some doohickey that zaps it with a manmade pole shift (something to do with magnets in the gizmo, I think?). Anyway, then he releases the bat and monitors it to see how long it takes it to regain its bearings and find its way.
