The RNC has set the date and time for the 2016 Republican National Convention for July 18-21 in Cleveland, OH.
Yeah, they don't want the process to drag on like it has in previous years.... gives the nominee more time to work voters in the general electiona bit earlier than usual huh?

Yeah, it's getting worse... there are some article floating around about it somewhere.have you heard any news regarding how the RNC is going to handle debates? I always worry a bit about them starting to control them and limit them even more..
seems like there are going to be a ton of candidates
They will probably pass out the questions beforehand...
Right along with the answers ...
That will help boost numbers in Ohio, a key swing state. And the family of Governor Bill Haslam of TN's owns a sports team in Cleveland. As someone from Miami, this is the worst decision the RNC could make. I mean, seriously, you're first choice is from Miami (Jeb Bush), why the hell would you have the nominee from Miami go to Cleveland????
I gotta agree with Keith. I've been to Cleveland a lot, and I don't see any real reason besides maybe just outreach that the RNC is hosting the convention there. If they wanted a somewhat better Ohio location, they could've just done Columbus. I do remember that that was on the table for a while.
http://www.cleveland.com/open/index.ssf/2014/07/cleveland_gop_convention_annou.htmlConventions can be significant economic generators for a city. One study showed that the 2012 GOP convention pumped more than $200 million into the Tampa and Florida economies. That convention drew roughly 50,000 visitors.
