I'm happy to see RP's campaign aiming for the conservative votes Gingrich has effectively been splitting. This is monumental for RP's victory in Iowa.
Now I've been thinking about the next steps here. Right now RP's campaign is all about youth carrying it. And that's great, because it motivates us youngin's to get out there in Iowa and New Hampshire and promote the message with as much passion as it deserves. I'm thinking that on a broader appeal, to open the scope to more people, it might be wise to start pushing for mature and professional voters as well, in addition to creating a platform that can compete with Obama once he wins the caucus. It's important this is established before January, so there are many positive talking points for the media to use. Especially if it snows. The media will dump on him without question. I suggest creating a very catchy and significant slogan the media can trumpet around where it always receives attention for them.
Here's the long of it:
An ad campaign which focuses on; clips of RP himself speaking in the Committee of Foreign Affairs and discussing important issues in front of Congress, with relevant commentary from NH Senators speaking positively of him. From what I've read, he currently has great support from Jeanne Shaheen. This is a side that most people never see, because most adults don't dig these videos and articles up on the internet. I think people would understand that he's not just "some guy" who talks the talk, but who also walks the walk. He's built up an incredible career for himself, and he's one of the most involved and respectable men in the United States right now. They need to know this. They need to see him behind the podium presenting and discussing important issues where the decisions are made. When they see he's been there this whole time, voting for all the right things, they'll be further encouraged by his experience to push him into power.
It would be easy to build off of this image as well and compare his tremendous experience against Obama's inexperience. Inexperience leads to conformity, conflict, and indecision, where experience is what people need right now. This also justifies any age arguments and "electability" questions out of the window. He's been elected into Congress, been elected as Governor of Texas, involved in several committees for financial and foreign affairs. This guy is the real deal. And that's where the Real Deal slogan comes into play to carry him to victory:
Ron Paul's Real Deal: Cut 1 Trillion the 1st Year. It resembles in name the famous "New Deal" passed by Roosevelt, except it's much different. The New Deal was proposed after the Great Depression to bring reform to the financial system and prevent another depression. It's extremely relevant in this case, where it's a financial reform PREVENTING another Great Depression. Suddenly you have adults and seniors able to relate with and agree to RP's principles, because they experienced it or heard about it. It adds that realism to the economy's situation they haven't been feeling. RP supporters can also tote signs claiming Ron Paul is the Real Deal. So it effectively combines two separate messages into a single, powerful, and historically relevant force. "Real" obviously relevant to Ron Paul's honesty and straight-forward approach, and his ability to relate with the every day American.
The sooner this is enacted the better, as it seems most Gingrich fans love history, and this would give them something historically relevant to cultivate and relish in Ron Paul.
