2 Americans, 1 Brit dead after 18 rockets hit base in Iraq housing US troops, military says

Two Americans and one Brit were killed as approximately 18 Katyusha rockets hit an Iraqi base housing U.S. troops Wednesday, the U.S. military said in a statement.

"The Coalition @CJTFOIR confirms more than 15 small rockets impacted Iraq’s Camp Taji base hosting Coalition troops, March 11 at 7:35 p.m. (Iraq Time)," Operation Inherent Resolve (OIR) spokesperson Col. Myles Caggins said on Twitter.

2 US SERVICE MEMBERS KILLED IN IRAQ DURING MISSION AGAINST ISIS

Iraqi Security Forces found a rocket-rigged truck a few miles from Camp Taji, which hosts Coalition personnel for training and advising missions, according to a statement from U.S. Central Command.

The attack comes just days after two U.S. service members were killed by enemy forces while advising and accompanying Iraqi Security Forces during a mission to eliminate an ISIS terrorist stronghold in a mountainous area of north-central Iraq on Sunday.

It is incredible that this is still happening almost a decade after Iraq was liberated thanks to pre-MAGA neoconservatives efforts in 2003.

An unusual daytime rocket attack on a US military base in Iraq injured at least two Iraqi soldiers Saturday — just days after a similar strike killed two Americans.
The barrage of at least a dozen explosives hit Camp Taji north of Baghdad, Iraqi officials said, landing in an area where coalition service members are housed and on an airstrip operated by Iraqi forces.
The attack came two days after the US launched retaliatory airstrikes against Iran-backed Iraqi militias that the Pentagon says is responsible for Wednesday’s attack on Camp Taji, which killed three coalition soldiers — two Americans and one British soldier.
Senior US officials have said that the killing of Americans in Iraq was a red line that would spark swift reprisals.
