The end of the quarter is March 31st, we should try to get LPAC to $1 million before then.

Thoughts?

In the past, there has been a strong push to end each quarter strong. I'd say we should keep in mind, but we don't need any formal planning. A few emails from Ron on the 31st will likely push us over the top.

He needs to get a committee dedicated to his election, imo. There's no sense in raising too much, when the funds won't be able to push positive ads or mailers, imo. I hope this doesn't turn into a fund that some staffers just milk.

There have been many folks make the statement that they won't donate until he does announce.. they are afraid of where the $$$ will go.. I rebuked a few, but thought I would share what I have heard/read..

While it'd be great to be over a million, I still think the emphasis at this early stage should be more on how many donors are coming out of the woodwork.

I've decided, though it's not a whole lot, to donate $20.12 from each of my checks in March. Since I get five regular checks in March, that's over $100.

When you split it out, that's not even a pinch.

So long as he raises $1 million before he announces I think he is fine. The articles will say "Paul, who has raised over one million so far this year, blah blah blah"

Just confirmed that on FEC.gov. And I noticed Jesse's wife is on that payroll too.

I agree, I don't like how much nepotism there is. Why shouldn't every position be free market? It's disappointing to say the least.
Take it up with Ron next time you see him because it's his decision.

If you notice the board of LPAC and CFL are all populated with Ron's family. WHY? Because he wants to ensure his family has some measure of control over it and it doesn't eventually get taken over by political hacks, usurpers, and opportunists.

That makes sense, I think he could find devoted and highly qualified people outside the family. It's a good gig for the family to get cushy jobs from the fundraising efforts.

I think he will have raised well close to 1.5 million by quarter's end

As long as he does good. I'm not complaining. It must be a little re-assuring to have someone you can trust a bit more as well. idk
