You're too late 
I went ahead with it -- couldn't wait any longer because stock of the cards I wanted was running out fast and every day I'm waiting is another $125-$150. Only have 2/8 of the video cards here but've already accumulated $120 in USD. I'm still very skeptical of Bitcoins, and correctly called a bubble hours before it popped (BTC dropped ~30% in value in a day, $8.7->$6.5), but like I said - even if the value of BTC dropped all the way down to $.70, I'd still be in the black after half a year.
Turns out I underestimated what my hash rate would be, too, so I'm looking at 2.85 GH/s instead of the 2.4 GH/s I expected, and the price of BTC is very high, enough that I'm looking at $3840/mo once all my hardware arrives if it's stable at the current price.
