Conservatives care about various issues like abortions and less taxes for themselves. I would suggest Conservatives possibly care about issues more than the poor or lower classes well being.
Liberals and libertarians seem to really have large hearts. They care greatly about the poor. The difference being Liberals are socialist and believe government is the solution to all our ills. Libertarians on the other hand believe and I feel rightly so that government doesn't fix the problems.

It's way too early to tell, but McCain leaning Michigan bothers me.

Dallas is leaning Obama, Fort Worth is leaning McCain.
