Yeah I know what you mean. Even this one pastor who I really like (Mark Driscoll, I highly recommend checking out his podcasts) always talk about "does the government say it's legal" when decided whether an action is sin or not. Bah, it annoys me. Although I really enjoy another pastor (Perry Noble) who I've noticed has quite a "don't bother what the government says, if the Bible says it's fine, it's fine" attitude. I think, though, is because he's southern and knows how the government creates injustice with things such as Jim Crow laws.
Yes, it annoys me too. Especially being a Catholic and seeing the Church perverted by socialistic thinking. It's especially sad, given that "Austrian economics" was basically founded by Catholic scholars of Salamanca in the 1500s...the first real economists
