Ron Paul was probably my first major influence away from a sort of neocon-lite (or maybe pro-war, conservative-libertarian) perspective. I initially agreed with him on just about everything but the wars, and perhaps the war on drugs. Because I agreed with him so much on other issues, I started listening and thinking carefully about what he was saying on these issues, and changed my position.
From that point, I don't think I had a single clear influence. There was a lot of introspection about the question of moral taxation, and bits and pieces of information from here and there.
I believe I said that I supported the NAP before I'd heard of Free Talk Live, but I think I first heard the term "voluntaryist" from them.
