Nationwide Afghanistan war protests this week - please go

It's about time for a substantial anti-war movement to start in this country - and with Obama probably announcing an escalation of 34,000 troops to Afghanistan (in addition to the 20,000 he already sent), there is no better time than now. A leading anti-war organization, World Can't Wait, is...

Mike Gravel: please donate to help fund a direct democracy documentary

It's not ideological because there's no ideology behind it. I work with a few groups of people promoting this idea and there are libertarians, progressives, conservatives, conspiracy theorists, mainstream Democrats, centrists, mainstream Republicans, and everything in between who are interested...

Mike Gravel: please donate to help fund a direct democracy documentary

Some founding fathers were supportive of direct democracy, although not all. And I did post it to Daily Kos, too! This is not an ideological issue.

    Screenings of Rethink Afghanistan

Hey all, It's my first time on the Ron Paul forums in a while, but I'm just stopping by to let you know about a screening of the movie Rethink Afghanistan (produced by Brave New Films) that I helped organize. It's in Lansdale, PA on Monday, November 9, and the head of the local chapter of...

    Marijuana money bomb

Personally, I think the taxation is a secondary issue at this point. If this bill passes - or even gets a lot of support but ultimately fails - it will be a huge step forward for legalizing marijuana.

    Marijuana money bomb

Just spreading the word about this... A state representative in California introduced a bill to legalize the sale and taxation of marijuana to people over 21. Link: http://www.sacbee.com/breaking/story/1646399.html There is an effort to have a mini-moneybomb for him. $10,000 is the goal...

Could Mike Gravel get on TV (MSNBC, specifically)?

No, he wants to add direct democracy to our representative system. Not replace it. And he has advanced libertarian causes by doing things that increase our freedom, decrease the destruction of government, and decrease the power of government. Maybe he wanted the government to provide some...

Could Mike Gravel get on TV (MSNBC, specifically)?

Oh, and he doesn't want to "replace" the Constitution at all. He wants to amend it.

Could Mike Gravel get on TV (MSNBC, specifically)?

Well, I explained how he got the pseudo-libertarian label. He never got the libertarian label fully, so I'm not sure what you're asking anymore... He has certainly done a lot to advance libertarian causes, though, even if he doesn't adhere to the ideology (or any other ideology, for that matter).

Could Mike Gravel get on TV (MSNBC, specifically)?

I guess helping to end the draft, end the Vietnam War, end nuclear testing in the North Pacific, being against the Iraq war from the beginning, calling for restoration of civil liberties, calling for gay marriage, and calling for the end of the drug war had nothing to do with that.

Could Mike Gravel get on TV (MSNBC, specifically)?

Regardless of what you think of Gravel's philosophy, wouldn't it be great to see his honesty and bluntness on one of those networks? Especially instead of one of those stupid typical hosts: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uBcMUZAXMW4

An article I wrote at Dailykos (and cross-posted at OpEdNews): http://www.dailykos.com/story/2009/2/13/16035/2491/470/697194 Excerpt: Something to keep in mind: I was writing for the Democratic Dailykos audience. Something to check out related to this - http://www.globalperspectives.tv

Libertarian in Michigan has a good chance of winning House election, and needs YOU!

It's perfectly legal. The guy's running as a Libertarian. Apparently, Miller is running a less active campaign than in the past and the Democrat is barely running a campaign at all. Even if he doesn't win, it would be worth getting a base for him for a 2010 run, when Miller plans to run for...
