Patrick Kelly is a 26-year old software engineer, entrepreneur, husband, and local volunteer from Lexington, Ky, where he has lived for 20 years. Patrick remains actively involved in the community through Awesome Labs, a not-for-profit focused on helping students start their own companies. Patrick has helped start several businesses in the area including Building Layer, a technology company focused on mapping the indoor world, and That Winsome Girl, a jewelry design firm operated with his wife, Amy Kelly. Patrick believes that a steady creation of small businesses and start-ups is one of the most important things a society can do to progress, create jobs, and improve the overall quality of life. Patrick will continue his strong relationships with and speak for the start-up community in Congress.
Patrick is a 2003 graduate of Henry Clay High School. In 2010 he graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with minors in Mathematics and Japan Studies. He currently works for Galmont Consulting as a software engineer and frequently develops software as a freelancer. Patrick regularly attends Family Worship Center with his family where he has been a member for 20 years.
Patrick has been married to the former Amy Nicole Adams of Princeton, KY for 4 years. He is the son of local entrepreneurs Pat Kelly, an ordained minister, and Sandy Kelly (Rec-creations of Lexington, Pop-a-lock, AutoQual USA, Bibs BBQ, Pet Butler) and brother of Colleen Kelly Davis and Brendan Jared Kelly (University of the Cumberlands Athlete, 2011 All Commonwealth Team).
