John McCain Worries He's Tea Party's 'Number One Target' in 2016

Thanks very much for this SatchelMcqueen! If i could find how to send some rep your way i would. I've read plenty of different accounts of the origins of the Tea Party and some put it down to Rick Santelli but I always thought the core message was libertarian and from Ron, until it got hijacked...

John McCain Worries He's Tea Party's 'Number One Target' in 2016

This is fascinating to me and i'm grateful to be given a run down of the origins of the Tea Party. How and when would you say the Tea Party went from it's libertarian roots to what we see today? Was it just the aggressive foreign policy republicans joining and changing the discourse of the Tea...

Messina: Rand Paul would be ‘most right-wing’ nominee ever

What does 'really right wing' even mean? It's such an antiquated method of defining peoples positions. However, Rand would be clearly the most libertarian nomination but that is hardly difficult!

    Pledge of Allegiance/National Anthem

Yeah, it's the religious and authoritarian elements of the British that is so detached from my beliefs. In Britain we are less patriotic so it isn't a massive issue when people don't sing the anthem - I would imagine when the Queen dies and we have 'God save the King' there may be a bigger...

    Pledge of Allegiance/National Anthem

My anthem contains 'god save our gracious queen' and 'long to reign over us, god save the queen'. *face palm*. I don't sing the British national anthem because I don't agree with the contents, that's that really.

    Free market Healthcare books

I hope this is the correct forum - apologies if not. I'm on the hunt for some literature dedicated to promoting free market healthcare. It's something that is a bit of a hole in my knowledge, other than the basic principles. I've read plenty on a variety of libertarian topics but aside from...

Rand Paul meets with Nigel Farage

As much as i'm enjoying this thread's concentration on Rand's outfit :p as a British person I don't buy Farage as a true libertarian. I was a member of his party for a short period and it became clearer as time went on that Farage just makes up policy on the hip and will happily propose socially...

    Forcing your beliefs on others

In addition to the ideas discussed already - ego. I don't force my beliefs onto others, but if i'm asked about mine or a discussion starts on an issue i have a view on, i'll put it out there. The fact that i'm quite predictable in my defence of liberty is good in my book.

[Video] Ron Paul 3-hour 'In Depth' interview on C-SPAN BookTV 8/3/14

I'm 40 mins in and will be dipping back in through the evening as i'm not busy. I like the interviewing technique so far, letting Dr Paul speak which makes a change from what i've become accustomed to when watching interviews with Ron. Thanks for posting this, really enjoying it!

'For Liberty' for those who have never watched it

Thank you for posting this! Just watched it and made me realise how even from over here in England, Ron Paul is the most influential politician to me. I lost faith in politics and the political system until i learnt of Ron and the cause of liberty. Keep going!
