1% can make a big difference in a primary. In New Hampshire for example we had:
Santorum 23,362
Gingrich 23,291
Difference -- 71 votes, or about 3% of a single percentage point.
And then there was first place in Iowa too between Romney and Santorum. Paul hasn't had any nailbitingly close...
My girlfriend is Korean and has known about Ron Paul since 2007. She's actually asking me about him right now as she's sitting next to me and has noticed his picture on top. Not that she can vote in the US or anything (nor can I, I'm Canadian) but there you go.
On the Obama vs. Paul question...
Thanks. I often go to newspaperarchive.com and see what I can find. This one article certainly isn't the only one worth dredging up and giving some light in order to compare to the current situation. It's amazing how similar the arguments against legalization back then are to those now.

Edit: on second look, it should...
I do. Because if you think about it the other way, Republicans winning this time around with McCain as the nominee would send a strong signal that big government, nation-building and all the rest is a winning formula. Losing this time around will bring about a period of reflection that maybe...
Interesting thread. Here are my thoughts:
I was first an Obama supporter until I found out about Ron Paul. Ron Paul is the only candidate whose speeches I can watch time and time again, as they are unscripted and there is always something new to learn in them. Thanks to him I've become...
