A few things we can all start doing NOW to build support for Rand

Egg-Zactly right. It just so happens that an anti-Fed movement has recently sprung up in Europe, and is growing like all get-out, judging by number of cities involved. And the means of interfacing is primarily face-to-face, and in public. Therefore, there are low cost opportunities for...

Anti-Fed, Populist Movement Growing Explosively in Europe; US version could make Rand Paul

Europe is experiencing an extremely rapid growth (at least in terms of cities involved) populist, anti Federal Reserve movement. It went from bascially one guy with a sign, to 100 German cities (plus a few foreign ones) in 2 1/2 months. Within less than a month after that, it had grown to...

Newsday: "Exxon backs Obama plan to impose climate change fees"

(this is a repost of a diary of mine at my.firedoglake.com) Metamars has emphatically noted, from at least as early as February of this year, that and has threatened to write a diary on the subject. A more recent reminder was issued by your favorite, irrepressible climate dilettante, on...

Re-Vitalizing the Tea Parties (and possibly saving us from global serfdom)

I've just started soliciting mostly Tea Party groups to directly educate the public (via pamphleting) about real climate science, in the hopes that we can sink carbon taxes, which Senator Vitter has recently told us are being negotiated in secret. What follows below is my standard email. I...

Article in The Telegraph (UK) indicates plausible Ron Paul victory in Iowa, and beyond

Ignore the national polls: the Republican race will be decided in Iowa’s three-way showdown BTW, any chance that Judge Napolitano would be RP's vice president? I have no idea how that polls, but I do like Napolitano (not all his positions, of course).

Occupy Wall Street dudes want the Tea Party to show up

So how do you feel about Tea Partiers demonstrating in front of Fed banks?

Occupy Wall Street dudes want the Tea Party to show up

I frankly fail to see the problem with starting on a Saturday. It's supposed to be long-lasting - that's why they call it "occupation". The longer the occupation goes on, the longer that it's starting day has to fall into the vagaries of memory. I'm not shilling for anybody, except...

Occupy Wall Street dudes want the Tea Party to show up

Well, I've got no problem with him trying to effect change within the Republican party. At firedoglake, where I frequently post, many people have terminally soured on the Democrats. While I respect neither major party, and in fact consider them crime families, of sorts, I don't believe that they...

Occupy Wall Street dudes want the Tea Party to show up

OK, thanks. As per my update, another way to approach this is on a "separate but equal" sort of basis, i.e., a non-hostile, parallel demonstration. You'd pick a different name than Occupy Wall Street, but you'd set up shop near enough the Occupy Wall Street gatherings that you could float over...

Do you think Ron Paul agrees with you? Any chance you could ask him?

Occupy Wall Street dudes want the Tea Party to show up

The "core group" may want you and me to " seize their workplaces collectively", but I for one won't be interested. (For the record, I'm certainly for workers have a seat on the board of directors of any major corporation. It's the "seizing" part that I'm dubious about.) I'm not going to let...

Occupy Wall Street dudes want the Tea Party to show up

I don't think it could possibly be so cut and dried. Your comment reminds of the brainless, endlessly repeated claim that all Tea Partiers are bots for the Koch brothers, because they did indeed sink a lot of cash into helping the Tea Parties start. There will doubtlessly be people working to...

Occupy Wall Street dudes want the Tea Party to show up

Absolutely. I think most of the country knows that GE doesn't pay taxes, which you could consider a form of corporate welfare.

Occupy Wall Street dudes want the Tea Party to show up

sgt120 said: Also, let's say that 1/3 of the Occupy Wall Streeters would "attack and villify". Assuming you mean verbally attack (seriously, they're practicing non-violence wrt the cops, so I don't think they're going to turn around and start beating up civilians. Even if they wanted to...

Occupy Wall Street dudes want the Tea Party to show up

No, I don't think that's true of most of them. See, e.g., the Daily Kos poll results that I just posted. Unfortunately, it may be true of many of them, but there's only one way to find out. Currently, 63% is saying "yes" to the poll question on DailyKos.
