The Benton curse isn't what it seems

From my experience working on campaigns, the staff dictates what happens. But those have been congressional races. Every campaign is different. I trust Ron, too... and there's been a lot of hate for Benton, but he has gotten us this far, right? Regardless of what happens, Ron's presence in this...

Doug Wead: Some things about the Ron Paul campaign can't be discussed right now

Romney is not going to ask Ron to be his VP. It would be political suicide. Have we all forgotten how much the establishment despises Ron Paul? The Republicans would rather lose to Obama than let Ron into their little club.

The Benton curse isn't what it seems

I really don't think RP is calling the shots here. Senior campaign staffers are the ones running the show.

    Something Doesn't Add Up

"I personally don't know anyone who supports/voted for Romney, therefore no one is supporting/voting for Romney." Logic fallacy. Romney supporters are just less likely to put up signs and be enthusiastic about their candidate. I know a lot of RP people - young people - who support Ron Paul, but...

"Ron Paul + Potheads = Racist Dopes"

Yeah, he supports the Occupy movement. He was at Occupy Buffalo and I heard from a Ron Paul supporter that he was harassing people with Ron Paul signs.

    Peter Schiff as VP?

Johnson wouldn't really expand the base, though. As I said before, I really think a VP should appeal to a different demographic of voters but still be complementary to Ron, of course. That's why Haley might be a better pick than Johnson.

    Peter Schiff as VP?

I love this guy. I interviewed him over the summer for a piece on Oath Keepers that I wrote for Human Events. Extremely smart and passionate.

    Peter Schiff as VP?

Yes, that is me. A VP should expand the base of potential voters, though. Schiff is not that person. Plus some people think he comes off as arrogant. Smart man but not voter-friendly.
