    Reliable >1tb HD?

Any drive other than Seagate at 1TB and 1.5TB should be fine. It was just a bad batch and just about every major brand now is pretty much equally reliable. I have 3 Seagate external drives sitting on my desk and have worked perfectly for 1-3 years, but you couldn't pay me enough to play the...

What exactly is The Choice that Jesus offers to us all?

To the OP... that isn't quite the gist. All who sin are bound for hell. Everyone sins. The jews had the day of atonement and the related sacrifices to make atonement for their sins every year. In the same way Christ was our atonement. The choice that is offered to you is to accept the sacrifice...

    Wear Purple today 10/20

Hmm... I will not be wearing purple. I oppose all bullying, so in order to not slight all other forms of bullying and therefore be seen as supporting them, I will not raise the level of this form of bullying to a status of superiority to the others.

The "Ron Paul is a Creationist" talking point.

I am aware of the votes on "partial birth abortion bans". They are not outright bans on abortion like the far right pushes for, but they also aren't strictly about partial birth abortions. You have to look at the entire text of the bills and not just whatever source says the bill is simply a...

The "Ron Paul is a Creationist" talking point.

He is indeed a creationist... but that doesn't affect his policy making. He also opposes abortions but refuses to vote for a ban at the federal level. This is the perfect opportunity to use such a disagreement with someone and Ron Paul to point out that he votes on the principles of small...

    Dallas, Texas: Libertarian or Neoconservative?

    Hmm... I don't know about GOP powerbase... it's pretty evenly split. Presidental Elections D/R Dallas County 2008 57.5% 41.9% 2004 49.0% 50.4% 2000 44.9% 52.6% City of Dallas D/R 2008 65% 35% 2004 57% 43% Catholic churches are heavily hispanic and are also heavily democratic so churches...

Obama actually making some sense on education

The push for charter schools is simply because they don't offer the same kinds of contracts to teachers and tenure style situations that will allow them to keep their jobs with a sub-par teaching performance. It's basically and end-around to deal with the unions. They are still state funded and...

105 mph fastball recorded last night

I did see Nolan Ryan pitch against Roger Clemens... was quite a thing. I still say I'd rather watch a guy like Greg Maddux pitch because the man was essentially perfect as a pitcher. Perfect placement, perfect movement, perfect pitching motion, and he knew his opponents better than any pitcher...

    Was Thomas Jefferson a Christian?

He was a Christian in the sense that he followed Christ's teachings... short of the belief that Christ was the Son of God... which most people would say is the one requirement to actually be called a Christian. I'd go with "sort of".

Is it legal for a college professor to require you to purchase their textbook?

This is what your college library is for... or having roommates/friends that have the same class and sharing books. I have never seen a college prof actually check to see if you have purchased a book... and that is through two schools and two degrees.

How to tell if the grocery store milk is from a small farmer

I really don't care so much what kind of food the cow eats or what size of farm the milk comes from as long as it doesn't cost over $1.50 a gallon. Yes I did go several years without buying milk.
