I think this is more significant than the preferred candidate numbers at this point. Most voters settle on who they consider to be the most plausible candidate they can accept. The fact that Rand has opened a lead over Walker and Rubio is good–the more he can increase that "plausibility gap"...

If you look at the poll's numbers among Republicans and Independents, Rand is in second place ahead of Bush (found in the crosstabs, here). Of course, the Donald's lead is even bigger in that case. I guess he's got a sort of 'Ross Perot' appeal to voters without a party affiliation:

Well, good. This "issue" was never anything more than a silly distraction, and I'm glad South Carolinians are finally going to put it to rest.

If I were a citizen of South Carolina, I'd ask my representatives to vote for the bill to stop flying the Battle Flag of the Army of Northern Virginia over the Statehouse grounds. But I'm not a citizen of South Carolina, so my views on the matter frankly don't matter all that much.
