I keep hearing that the price of health care is so high BECAUSE of government involvement. How so?

I've heard that even when the government creates jobs by way of stimulus money, it then takes away a potential job in the private sector. Can anyone provide me with some good examples of this?

In terms of interest rates I mean. When Ben Bernanke says he is going to lower interest rates at the central bank does that lower the interest rates for Fannie and Freddie when they sell loans to folks?

Thanks for the responses I hadn't thought about the fact that not every state requires it. I know in California you have to have auto insurance.

If the Obamacare mandate is unconstitutional, would the same apply to car insurance? My first post BTW. Thanks in advance.
