Stop me if I'm wrong here, but I first got into this political business to bring some change to the electoral processes...but now it seems like we're presented with the same set of shitty choices.

On the republican side, we've got an out of touch billionaire who is prone to flying of the handle.

On the democrat side, we've got a watered down socialist who talks a good game, but will probably raise taxes.

Neither party is really going to bring fundamental change to Washington, neither party can be trusted to deliver fiscal discipline and protect America's freedoms under the bill of rights.

So I ask you, what the heck happened?

Best,

James

i've been wondering that myself. It seems like people don't find out anything about the candidates or their stance. Just usually go off what the media tells them.

The American people are being slowly boiled alive. They aren't aware of the fact that the water is continuing to get hotter.

However you take it, fortunately or unfortunately, we are aware and it remains our duty to continue to educate them.

What's even worse is in a nation of 300 million we are faced with some totally unknown "hope candidate" aligned with all kind of fringe elements versus a guy that has been involved in numerous political, and personal scandals.

How is this possible?

Who cares? The American people don't deserve Ron Paul.

Our best hope is that a economic crisis - one year or thirty years from now - hits in a short period of time, and people start to demand real change.

Well the Fabians were much more successful than the Communists at bringing about socialism in America. They realized if they did it gradually instead of through revolution people wouldn't realize it and would let it happen. And they were right.

I agree with the statements above.

Political unrest actually started probably about the time of the peace movement in the 1960s. I believe many in that movement, liberal, went to the Dem side, while conservatives stayed in the Repub side. All the newcomers were told to discount your principles in the General Election and go with the party choice, which was actually becoming the population choice, rather than the upper party insider picks. I think this actually has given us weaker candidates.

Think about it, John McCain isn't a good choice, but he's what's left over after ill informed americans voted for the guy.

I think if the political parties were run better, whereby the party actually created the party platform, then picked the potential candidate's (from those who would like to run), and truly support the platform, we might end up with much better selections. This is assuming you like having a political party at all.

I truly felt that at this time, people would have figured out that listening to the party insiders, in there current form, would be a mistake. I really felt people would have woken up this election cycle, that they would have learned that the main 2 parties are no friend to the American people, yet here we are again.

Many young people are generally apathetic, but to jump into the election and just tow the line for these parties shows their ignorance!!

I've got something to say to all those peaceniks from the 60s. You guys wanted to change the world. Now you're in control of the world and you've done nothing. YOU'RE PART OF THE PROBLEM NOW!! It's time for GAWD DAMN CHANGE, LIKE YOU WANTED TO DO, SO DO IT ALREADY!!!

I was watching Biden give his acceptance speech tonight and he sounded just like Mccain. Did you hear him speak about Israel, Russia and Pakistan? Defend, Confront, and Invade was the theme.

I knew this would happen once Obama sold his soul to become president. Picking Biden proved that.

Yep they will both lead us into disaster and bankruptcy.

Our best hope is that a economic crisis - one year or thirty years from now - hits in a short period of time, and people start to demand real change.

When that scenario occurs, the last thing on all of our minds will be Ron Paul. An economic crisis similar to, or greater than, the great depression, will cripple this country. Even Ron Paul as president will not be able to restore prosperity. Ron's message is one of prevention. Once the patient is dead, a resurrection is not a mortal possibility.

Whether they deserve Ron Paul or not, they didn't want him. And I hope for my own sake that they don't try to climb onto my sovereign island when their ship is sinking.

Remember what happened last time? If history repeats itself then when economic crisis happens they will embrace the people that caused the problem and demand even more socialism/government control.

Young Americans look at their own history as some stupid
speech from the old people.

Boomers appeared right after WWII, as the US went straight
into Korea. 3 years into Vietnam, when the boomers were
college age, after a lifetime of war propaganda films, we
shook off the brainwash and saw that Vietnam was purely
for corporate profit.

We also saw that, through the CIA and banksters, the US went
after every country in the world that had resources to exploit.

This led to mass demonstrations, many of them ending in deaths of
innocent citizens who were simply exercising their Constitutional
rights.

This information spread throughout a generation without the
use of cell phones, faxes, the internet, computers, YouTube,
CDs, DVDs and, most importantly, credit cards, easy loans,
credit floods and discretionary cash in general (we were
only one generation from the depression and still on the
Bretton/Woods gold standard, and, generally broke).

76% of Americans wanted out of Vietnam. It took 10 years to
affect an end to it at a cost of tens of thousands of dead soldiers,
countless injured, millions of dead Vietnamese and a trillion
dollar debt that we still haven't paid off.

They kill Presidents. They install dictators. They illegally invade
foreign countries and occupy them. They destroy economies.
They erase the Constitution. They police our streets with a
paramilitary force. They fix elections. They debase currencies.

The Kennedys were killed, all of the prominent black leaders
were gunned down, Wallace was shot, citizens were
brutally beaten, imprisoned, killed, hosed, gassed, wire tapped,
followed, profiled, organized groups were infiltrated and demonized,
they used the draft to target demographics and to chase citizens to
other countries, or imprison them, or to send them to "The Meat Grinder".

The previous generation was just happy to have a house with a
washing machine and television and wanted nothing to do with
us or our battle.

Did you really think the fight would be one year of part time
effort in a single Presidential election cycle?

Just a rant, FWIW.

Obama sold his soul long before..... I think that happened when he teamed with that Ayers guy from Weather Underground

I've had to sit here at work and listen to the clerical staff have orgasms over Obama's speeches. "He seems like such a regular guy," they say. "We need him to bring the troops home!"

WTF?! They have no clue. "chaaaAAAAAnge" zombies.

And those baby boomers came to power as Bill and Hillary Clinton, Bush, Al Gore, Kerry. Nothing changes.
