The are probably not because their cable got turned off and they are trying to find food and gas. That is the reality of shopping or scavenging whatever you want to call it. People really have no food...no hope.

Well considering almost 70% of the American economy is consumer spending, of course he's going to tell you to go shopping...The more Americans become worried about the economy and pull back, the bigger the economic problem. After these rebate checks all get sent out, the next few months will be the real test. I have a feeling things are not going to go as the Bush administration planned. People won't be spending this money, and if they do, it will be on "necessities" like food and gas.

I like Panama. Believe it or not, my wife and I were about to move there until we learned of RP last summer. We felt like we had someone to vote for all of a sudden. Why Panama--cheap, not overpopulated, beautiful country, happy people, good food, etc.

My Spanish teacher was Panamanian.... Didn't understand a word she said in either language (My new Spanish II teacher spent a full week trying to de-accent us. We pronounced the near-silent ll (llevar, pollo, etc.) with a "jeh" sound..)
