The guy's name has been mentioned for a possible VP position with Obama. Why would a Republican from Nebraska be considered a potential running mate for Obama? Well his foreign policy positions of course...hmm

What would Chuck Hagel add that Ron Paul couldn't?

Chuck Hagel is anti-war republican, who doesn't carry Alex Jones / truther / racist / libertarian baggage. So it's not so much what Hagel adds, as what Hagel doesn't add. He doesn't add opposition to the fed, and that makes Hagel vastly more acceptable to TPTB.

Chuck Hagel is Obama with an R next to his name.

I'm not sure how you can say that.

Hagel is weak on immigration, but much of his voting record is a lot more conservative than most incumbent republicans.

That said though, Obama/Hagel is a ridiculous notion. Not one even worth entertaining.

Face it: Obama and Paul have nothing in common. One is a proponent of big government and is bought and paid for by the system - one is a proponent of limited government and wants to restore your ownership of your life. That their views on foreign policy could be seen as similiar is irrelevant. For instance, here in Sweden, the former communist party wants out of the EU. So do I, but for different reasons, and I have no interest in aligning myself with them.

If you plan on voting for Obama, you really don't understand what Dr. Paul is all about.

yes unfortunately, Chuck Hagel is no Ally.

he and Senator Biden lost my respect when they helped rush The Global Poverty Act though committee..

*sigh*

The change Obama and his followers are chanting about is very similar to the ones Lenin and his followers were chanting about 100 years ago. Socialism.

Ron Paul is about the sort of change Nathan Hale, Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin were gunning for over 230 years ago. Its a little thing Francis Bellamy once dubbed Liberty and Justice for All.

Good find. It would be interesting to see an Obama vote column added to this.

I remember early on Juan Williams of NPR/Fox News fame claiming that Chuck Hagel was the "only anti war republican possibly in this race". (Hagel of course never gave any indication of wanting to run and this was pure punditry.) CH just represents another "false choice" being offered up to the masses. And it's got nothing to do with a lack of "truther baggage".
