I keep seeing on the forums of a billionaire supporter for Ron Paul. Does anyone have a link or could elaborate on this for me?

It's merely a rumor as of now. Short of the "Open Letter" posted here, nothing more has come of it.

let's say it is a hoax....we should try to use this as a means to round up the largest email blast we can summon to each billionaire who might ideologically align with Ron Paul or the Constitution at least.

not like spam but genuine requests with facts and astute logic

We can do that. We can make it in a form of a question of it they are the one, that this election is more important for the soul and heart of America than any other election, and that this is a rare time when one billionaire can make a difference.

Its US!

1,000,000,000 divided by 100,000 of us worth an average of $10,000.

And each of us gets a vote, the billionaire only has 1. :D

Or of the approx 450 billionaires, IF This were REAL, I would look at Howard Rich, he's a libertarian who has spent tons of money financing ballot initiatives. Maybe he sees an opportunity in Paul? He tends to keep his political business fairly private.

If the story is true, I'd bet my asteroid it was <EDIT>

<EDIT - Cut YouTube>

EDIT: Deleted because I think that proves it's him

Rummer or truth, either way.... Media attention!

Just as all deception and wicked plans by the neo-con pundits have become a snare and a trap unto themselves and this will too if it is a spoof.

But if true, then the forces that be have all been warned and they will only be able say, we saw it coming, but who could stop it?

Just keep doing what we are doing, no one would ever do this unless there was a support base. Keep the momentum going and if it does happen, it will be a bonus, not a bailout.

I think its an excellent time to network with them, even if it wasn't true.

Also, Super "duper" Tuesday is a rare occurrence. Parties have changed the rules to make it extraordinary hard for any candidate to get the message out *in all states* without media free help.

This election, the media is more in control than any other.

another thing to consider if it's a hoax...

perhaps its to make us overlook obvious potential supporters

anything above let's say 40 mil in the bank could probably buy the airtime needed, assuming the networks would even sell it (not a guarantee at this point)

another thing, like people were pointing out in the initial thread, he can only donate so much. So obviously there is only so much they can do.

Someone more familiar with the election laws and ways for someone to contribute outside of the $2300 could elaborate here. If they are allowed to do other things like keeping the blimp going or other advertising means, like movies (I know, too late for super tuesday)

I really think out of all years I've been alive, this election is the most winnable by a third party candidate of any of them. I hope I don't get labeled as a troll here but let's say Bloomberg enters, and we get on the ballot in all 50 states as some other party, conceivable ~33% of the vote can do it. Surely by November we can get that? Do you know how many people do't even bother to vote? If this is an emergency, and it is, then thats enough time to get us there..

But in the mean time we need to also publicize how the vote needs to be REPAIRED (not fixed)..... before November also. Force them to count the votes! Everything else will be irrelevant

No one has actually answered your question. This "billionaire supporter" thing started with a thread on the boards the other day by a new user "GoodSpirits" titled "Billionaire To Back Paul - Everything Changes." The thread caught on fire, speculation was rampant. Though it was originally posted here in Grassroots Central, it was eventually moved to "Hot Topics": http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=91845

It currently has over 800 replies and 37,000 views.

no you did, I read the thread and am responding here because it's a circus. I think it was written by someone with good intentions. I hope those were for us to find some big financial muscle. I hope someone can do that, whether by collective efforts or luck.

Yeah, it could be exciting and all, but for real.... there is no billionaire supporter.
The big "news" release that turned out to be some hack job of an email - seriously hilarious writing in my opinion - is so obviously fake, it's hardly worth discussing.

I don't know what the motivations are of the individual(s) who started all this nonsense, and if this is some ploy to encourage a billionaire to support Ron Paul, it's an incredibly dumb way to do it.

The idea that there'd be some "right" or "wrong" time to reveal this billionaire's identity is also totally stupid. What, like Ron Paul couldn't use the help right now? Psshh....
