where is the press release campaign?!?!?!

Why is it noon and the website isn't even updated nor have accurate numbers?!?!?!

As great as all this publicity is, why are we only breaking news not the headline news of the day?!?!?!
(just issuing a press release before morning means the difference in about 10 million dollars worth of news and 20 million).

Why did no one take care of this before running off and partying last night?!?!?!

Does anyone even f*@!cking care at campaign HQ?

We put together a press release for Trevor to send out and I know he got it. Haven't seen anything about it in the media or elsewhere ...

Bump. I normally never bump threads. but I'm going to bump this all day, all week, all month if i have to until we get the press release we deserve after all the hard work the supporters put in yesterday. I may just give the campaign a couple angry calls today.

The week before Oct 6th RP got 187 requests for print media interviews and the HQ couldn't even answer the telephone or respond to e-mails.

I'd be surprised if they are not in a cross eyed coma today...

I think there are times when the small campaign staff really hurts us. I know and appreciate that the campaign is trying to be frugal but they need to put on enough staff to get emails and media requests handled in an expeditious manner.

Yet his events schedule is empty :(

I really hate to rag on his campaign, i know they work very hard for how small they are, but I thought they got bigger and better and for awhile there I really saw some improvement. I'm just sad, I'm not really as angry as I come off. I'm just really really disappointed. Its all just very depressing for me to see the most powerful grassroots organization in the history of politics helping a campaign staff that won't even do the simplest and most basic of tasks. It makes it even worse when i visit mikehuckabees events section.

This went out yesterday late afternoon:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACTS: Kerri Price; Jesse Benton

November 5, 2007

ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA—Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul beat all online primary fundraising records at 4:00pm today. In 16 hours, the Ron Paul campaign brought in over $2.7 million in online contributions, making it the largest single-day online primary fundraising effort by a presidential candidate in United States election history. Approximately 21,000 Americans made online donations thus far. Today’s efforts surpassed John Kerry’s record $2.7 million online fundraising efforts two days after the 2004 Super Tuesday primaries, and Republican John McCain’s $1 million online following the New Hampshire primaries in 2000.

Well, that's nice, but it's about 24 hours out of date and it couldn't have taken more than ten minutes to compose.

WAKE UP HQ!!!

There are rumors circulating that the headquarters has been infiltrated by professional campaign wreckers and while I haven't any idea if this is true, the incompetence of leaving yeasterday completely uncapitalized is staggering.

What are you guys doing?

We brought millions of dollars to the table without even being asked and all you come up with is a 4 pm paragraph? That's "the dog ate my homework" level of campaigning.

I would guess that Congressman Paul has his hands full, but whoever his folks are at the top need to light a fire under their staff. I called three seperate times and waited an eternity for someone to pick up. When I did speak to someone I offered the services of our phone banks if neccessary and have yet to hear back from anyone and that was three weeks ago..

Great ideas, great candidate, lame staff.

At the time, it was entirely accurate and up to date. The best press releases ARE short. They may have had another since or have something else up their sleeve. But if I see another one, I doubt I'll post it.

"At the time, it was entirely accurate and up to date"

So was 'Dewey Beats Truman', that wasn't my point.

I just had a guy in an adjoining office stop by to tell me that Ron Paul raised over 3 million dollars yesterday because he saw it on Concast homepage. I told him I watched when it rolled over the 7 million mark last night at 11:36 and that actual total was over 4.5 million- I sent him to the Ron Paul homepage and even they didn't have accurate accounting on it- and the most recent press release was the one you posted. That's inexcusable, they've dropped a rather huge ball here and making excuses for them is enabling whoever did a lousy job to get away with it.

I don't blame Congressman Paul, but we are already being hamstrung by the MSM, we don't need our own people dropping the ball.

Just saying.

I agree. The release last night made sense for early coverage of the "raised so far" data, but there should be one to cover the final numbers.....

The total was 4.3 Million.

38,000 Donors
21,000 NEW Donors

We must trust that they are going to get that release sometime today.

Calm down everyone.

It looks like they're going to do one better and and do something far greater than just sending out a press release -- hold a press conference:

Press Conference
Murrow Room, National Press Club, Washington, DC
4:00 PM ET

3.992. 4.35 or so with offline donations from a week or so added in.

I humbly apologize and stand corrected if that is the case.

Good for them.

Take the fight to them instead of waiting for them to bring the fight to us.

Well, 3.992 would be over 3 million, so I guess that's accurate, but you should get my point.

Look at this article from January regarding Romney's big Multi-Millionaires Club Call Center-

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/01/08/AR2007010801710.html

Romney Raises $6.5 Million in One-Day Blitz

They are able to get within 100K in the headline aren't they? They didn't say "Over Six Million".

What I find curious was this line buried in the text-

The day's total included actual contributions and what a Romney spokesman called "signed pledges."

Signed Pledges? Is that a contribution or a promise to contribute? How does one sign a pledge over the phone? The WAPO has no problem giving Romney the benefit of the doubt even though we have no idea how much of what he raised in his one day blitz was actual money and how much was the promise to contribute at some point in the future.

I just want people to give up this illusion of a free and independent press where no such thing exists. They reinforce the paradigm that keeps them in power, not report facts objectively. I wish we had a hundred multimillionaires calling their friends all day yesterday for "pledges" we would have raised a hundred million.
