Where are the Republicans??

Dems have 51 votes, they can pass any judges they want.

Technically, the the Democrats only have 47 votes. There are four Independents, of which Manchin and Sinema sometimes vote against the Democrats, for instance:
- Sinema voted with the Republicans in opposing Amir H. Ali, of the District of Columbia, to be U.S. District Judge for the District of Columbia
- Manchin voted with the Republicans in opposing Sarah French Russell, of Connecticut, to be U.S. District Judge for the District of Connecticut, and also in opposing Embry J. Kidd, of Florida, to be U.S. Circuit Judge for the Eleventh Circuit

The key is that the Republicans only have 49 votes in the Senate and are not the makers of their own destiny. They need both Manchin and Sinema to overcome the Kamala tie-breaker. It seems, though, that they don't both vote against the Dems at the same time on these confirmations. But yeah, the blame can't be laid at the feet of the Republicans because they don't have enough votes on their own.

Being corny little douchefags like this this guy:

Now, Sen. James Lankford (R-OK), who serves on the powerful Senate Intelligence Committee, is expressing some concern about her 2017 visit to Syria, in which she met with Syrian President Bashar al Assad and called for the end of support for Syria’s opposition movement against Assad’s authoritarian rule, a sentiment that put her at odds with the Obama administration's stance on the issue.

Speaking on CNN's State of the Union Sunday, host Dana Bash asked Lankford if he would "support her to oversee America's intelligence community."

"We're going to go through hearings, we're going to get everything out, we're going to get facts and information to get the entire story. She is somebody who has been very outspoken. She's obviously a past member of the military, she's a veteran herself, she's had the opportunity to be able to travel quite a bit around the world as a member of Congress. ... She's not been afraid to be able to speak out and say, 'Hey, I disagree on some areas.' But that's a very different role than saying what is your philosophy and what is President Trump's philosophy on how we're going to handle national intelligence," he said.

Except they are allowing it to happen at a record pace, when they could be throwing up procedural roadblocks.

Don't worry though. When Trump gets into office, the GOPe leadership will be throwing up roadblocks to hinder Trump on everything he tries to do (unless it is signing an Omnibus spending bill).

Or sending more money to Ukraine...

I replied simply so that the quoted portion could be posted again. But I guess I have to say something to pay the dues, as it were.

... sh1t! Is something new so difficult to come up with? I can't think of anything. Guess I'll just have to keep posting here.

Well, even when the republicans have a "majority", they don't have a majority.
