I happen to live in the small town Fairfield (coincidence, wierd) and I can tell you they are strict as hell when it comes to truancy. Butler Tech is a secondary school and trade school for high schoolers and adults. My husband went there.
Both schools are pretty good, in suburban areas.
The asshole truancy offer here took my parents friends to court for their 6th grader missing about 20 days...ALL of which he has hospital excuses for. Apparently almost dying while having asthma attacks is not a good reason t o miss school - the judge threw it out, and quickly at that.
They also took my parents to court when they home schooled me for a few years - it was for no reason at all - they just missed that government check they use to get for me I suppose.
However you feel about this they are absolutely insane around here and its ridiculous to put a man in jail for the truancy of his 18/of age year old daughter...more of a punishment on her than him.
