This is a completely serious question... I am trying to find out what others consider the benefits of following our Constitution. By benefits I mean to our current political and social condition. How would Americans see immediate benefits if we could restore constitutional law right now?

I am not looking for essay answers... more like bullet points that you can follow with a extensive explanation if you like. Please use your own words and thoughts rather than quotes from others... thanks!

So, in complete seriousness:
What are the immediate benefits to American Citizens of restoring a Constitutional Government?

Well first off, I have to say that there is no way in hell that you could just simply go straight to a constitutional form of government. I'm not going to try and quote anybody, but we first need to go through a transition. Look at all the people out there that have been taught to depend on government. If we ended all social programs as we know, it (which is pretty much what a true constitutional government would be) would be a huge mess! Yes, I am for a constitutional government, but we definately need a transition first. So the first step would obviously be to quit policing the world and trying to run an empire. All that money saved would be more than enough money to rebuild the infrastructure and take care of our people here at home. I know this is not a short answer, but I thought it needed said.

Fair enough... how bout we call is "short term" and not immediate. :)

The "rule of law" is what a Constitution does for us.

What I am looking for is more of a "benefits" list. If we were trying to sell the Constitution what benefits would we list... like "new and improved" or "helps with weight loss"... thanks :)

To restore fairness (by making Everyone held to the rule of law not just the working class or the ones not connected to government officials)
To have a system that works and holds government branches accountable (instead of them being giving a blank check and a free ride to do whatever they wish)
Also it gives the people the ability to run their lives as they see best fit for themselves instead of being binded down by senseless and needless laws mainly written to control them and by Lobbyists and special interests (Would be the end of lobbying in DC)
Would empower the people again instead of giving more power to those who only seek power (make being a politician not so much a glamorous job)
Would make money sound and counterfeiting illegal even for the the Government (Sound Money, not monopoly money which allows them to pay for unpopular things and programs)
Would protect soveirgnity like states rights (which would enable people to easier change laws) Also by not allowing foreign interests to gain control of the government (AIPAC)

So, I will say that we must analyze the word constitution and its meaning in context of our political, societal, and economic institutions. Also the word government must be defined as "mind control". Its like this

Image the hive mentality where all units act as individuals functioning within a psychically and physically connected ecosphere. When ALL individuals come to agreement on a principle that is tested and has not violated the physical state the principle becomes LAW. It would then be the governments job to write the law down and remind us about it in court if we violate that law. The people who ran government would serve dull purposes. The would be librarians, book-keepers, accountants, judges, document officers, notaries, journalists basically. So practically speaking

Lets make a list.

1.) its like a computer chip except, limited powers to the central political underlings uh I mean central government. Edit, in a constitutional government, one would never be throw in jail until prosecuted to the fullest intent of the law. You couldn't just get thrown in jail on "probable cause". Yes you would get a warrant for arrest AND a notice to appear. However, the act of serving a warrant would not be a public expense that a private person could capitalize on. In other words, no bonds on frivolous or unproven charges.

Who are you trying to "sell the Constitution" too?

You audience makes all the difference in the world.

"We the People" NEVER "officially" accepted it nor were they EVER even asked to accept it. It was purely a top down coup scheme.

( Oops. not really a benefit. Sorry! :o )

or it was this.

“Before I can live with other folks I've got to live with myself. The one thing that doesn't abide by majority rule is a person's conscience.”

or these

The Spirit of Liberty

Patrick Henry, War is Inevitable 1775

Three millions of people, armed in the holy cause of liberty, and in such a country as that which we possess, are invincible by any force which our enemy can send against us.
Beside, sir, we shall not fight our battles alone. There is a just God who presides over the destinies of Nations, and who will raise up friends to fight our battles for us.

James Madison, author of the Bill of Rights

The ultimate authority resides in the people alone.

It is proper to take alarm at the first experiment upon our liberties. We hold this prudent jealousy to be the first duty of citizens and one of the noblest characteristics of the late Revolution. The freemen of America did not wait till usurped power had strengthened itself by exercise and entangled the question in precedents. They saw all the consequences in the principle, and they avoided the consequences by denying the principle. We revere this lesson too much to forget it.

Alexander Hamilton

Men give me credit for some genius. All the genius I have is this: When I have a subject in mind. I study it profoundly. Day and night it is before me. My mind becomes pervaded with it, the effort which I have made is what people are pleased to call the fruit of genius. It is the fruit of labor and thought.

In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men the great difficulty lies in this: You must first enable the government to control the governed, and in the next place, oblige it to control itself.

Thomas Jefferson

On every question of construction of the Constitution, let us carry ourselves back to the time when the Constitution was adopted, recollect the spirit manifested in the debates, and instead of trying what meaning may be squeezed out of the text, or invented against it, conform to the probable one in which it was passed.

George Washington

I hope I shall always possess firmness and virtue enough to maintain what I consider the most enviable of all titles, the character of an honest man.

To err is nature, to rectify error is glory.

Benjamin Franklin

Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither Liberty nor safety.

I hope that mankind will at length, as they call themselves reasonable creatures, have reason and sense enough to settle their differences without cutting throats;
for in my opinion there never was a good war, or a bad peace.

The way to see by faith is to shut the eye of reason.

John Adams

Wherever the standard of freedom and independence has been or shall be unfurled, there will be America's heart, her benedictions and prayers, but she goes not abroad in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well wisher to the freedom and independence of all. She is the champion and vindicator of her own.

People and nations are forged in the fires of adversity.

Samuel Adams

The liberties of our country, the freedom of our civil Constitution, are worth defending at all hazards.

As long as the people are virtuous they cannot be subdued; but when once they lose their virtue they will be ready to surrender their liberties to the first external or internal invader. If virtue and knowledge are diffused among the people, they will never be enslaved. This will be their great security.

What I like about Constitutional Government is that very few people know what it is. So you get to be smarter than most everybody if you do.

Unfettered prosperity and world peace for all mankind. We cause probably close to almost all major violent incidents in the world today. If not directly, then indirectly by our current and past actions.

And this brings up a good joke. If pro is good and con is the opposite of pro, then what is the opposer of progress? You got it, CONgress.

  • Reduced Taxes
  • Greater Influence Over Your Own Governance
  • Greater Personal Liberties
  • More Stable Economic Conditions
  • Less War
  • Relief From The Fear of Arbitrary Government Power

Just to name a few.

Fairness

A return to personal responsibility

Freedom to do more and be more, without getting tripped up by regulations on everything.

Clarity in government--meaning, we won't be mired in this mess of laws so we can't understand what the hell is going on.

Return to a government that is of the people, by the people and for the people--not the few elites.

It is what made us great, it is what makes us unique. It encourages creativity and prosperity.

The concept of people as sovereign entities is little known, and obviously appealing. Nobody likes to be "owned" by anyone else.

That's it for now.
