The Irvine Ron Paul Meetup had a booth today and tomorrow for the first annual Western CPAC Convention in Newport Beach. State Senator Tom McClintock was the speaker for our banquet tonight. He did an interview with Ron Paul about a month ago when Tom filled in for Roger Hedgecock's radio show. I spoke with Senator McClintock tonight and he said that he is going to endorse Ron when he gets over 10% in the polls. Pardon the pun, but Tom McClintock is the gold standard out here in California for Republicans. When he endorses Ron Paul, it's gonna be huge.

That would be huge indeed, but I wonder if it'll happen. National polls and California polls are not behind Ron Paul at the moment...

Damn. Why won't he just endorse the best man? It would likely help Paul catapult to 10% and beyond. People need to feel like he can win.

Well, I guess 10% isn't impossible to reach. Ron Paul has a truly national campaign, he could do it. Question is how much time Tom is gonna give us to reach that goal.

Ron Paul already polls at 10% of moderates in New Hampshire.

If Ron Paul were polling at 10% of "likely Republican voters" he wouldn't need any endorsement...he'd pretty much be the front runner at that point considering 4/5 of his support comes from those that didn't vote in the Republican election last time.
