National Guard issues statement after error reported in vaccine distribution to Boone County

Don't worry. Its all good. The public health professionals say no big deal.

“The product administered are antibodies that fight COVID-19,” said Dr. Clay Marsh, the state’s COVID-19 Czar. “In fact, this product was the same one that was administered to President Trump when he became infected. While this injection is not harmful, it was substituted for the vaccine. But this occurrence provides our leadership team an important opportunity to review and improve the safety and process of vaccination for each West Virginian.”

So the Regeneron antibody cocktail EUA states a dose should be delivered through intravenous infusion over 60 minutes. A vaccine dose is delivered over less than a second through an intramuscular injection. Hey! It's all the same to professionals.

Holy crap. My absolute mistrust in the medical, healthcare profession is well-founded, and reinforced on a daily basis.

And at the same time, they often use Remdesivir (doesn't work) instead of Regeneron on actually sick patients.
