Howdy folks,
Oyate the March Logistical Officer here. I hate to bring you negative news, but if we correctly understand what to do then we have nothing to be afraid of.
In doing this march, we have made implicit and explicit promises to our brothers and sisters in uniform in DC and by extension, to the citizens of DC. We will have a peaceful march. We will not conduct "civil disobedience", we will not tolerate the breaking of laws, the breaking of noses, at the most we might just tolerate the breaking of wind (farting) but even that can be offensive.
->always a joke with Oyate.....part serious, part humorous.
But anyways, we have a plan to deal with anyone who exhibits violent of destructive behavior and we need your help to make it work.
1. Point your finger at them and start to shout "shame, shame, shame, shame" and get the crowd to take up the chant.
2. Grab a marshal and get them to radio MLO (that's me) with your location and a physical description of the transgressors.
3. MLO will get in touch with the appropriate law enforcement agency and we'll set them up with bracelets, a taxi and a hotel room. Which means they will be handcuffed, stuffed in the back of a squad car and spend at least one night in jail.
I know every political movement has a sort of problematic view of government and law enforcement, but out of all political movements, we of all people are for law and order and those guys with the badge are our brothers and sisters in uniform. And those citizens in DC, those are our American people. And those buildings, however Constitutionally unfounded, are our common property.
So it's up to each and every one of us to take responsibility. But don't take it alone, call one of the Marshals. The Marshals are specifically trained to deal with these situations.
Don't know what else to say except that we love you and this march is gonna be kick-ass.
