Any video gurus out there care to either create or point to a good tutorial on creating basic videos that can be posted on you tube, myspace, google video etc.

Basically a short how to on:

- What movie making sotware to use
- How to take screenshots and use them in a video
- How to rip and use video clips from you tube google etc.
- How to create overlay text
- How to add photos into their movie

I've messed around with ulead software and some others and it's
fairly straight forward.

The more people that can post video blogs and news the better.

Here are some resources that are pretty easy to use:

Screenshots - Snagit from www.techsmith.com

Video Software - www.ulead.com www.magic-video-software.com

Web Video Conversion/player - www.rivavx.com

Please contribute web resources that you have on hand related to
video creation/editing.

Know of any royalty free sound clip resources?

downlaod audacity, it's audio editing, It's free. Not the best, but you can do a lot with it once you tinker around a little bit with it. You can even single out Voices, or backround noise. Something that really isn't easy to find in a free program.

I hate yahoo groups... never did like it. I hate the format, hate that you
have to become a member before viewing etc. etc.

Using Windows Movie Maker is incredibly simple, and most people already have it on their computers (or can download it for free). To a make a video like this takes under two hours with no prior experience (I just did it :D ). But in addition to getting more people to make movies, we also need a more effective way to get people on the forum alerted to them, since threads drop of the front page of the forum in a matter of hours.

What do you think the best software is for converting between .flv files
and other media formats like .avi .mpeg and back?

Really all one needs to make pretty killer videos is movie maker, a converter
and the ability to download youtube/google videos.

I use media-convert.com

It is completely online, and they have boat loads of conversion options. It takes a little while, and you have to download whatever you converted it afterwards, but I find that not haveing to download any software to convert videos, audio, and everything else helpful.
