About the last thing I thought I'd ever do is speak up in support of Cousin Janet.
DHS assimilated a number of agencies when it was created. One of these was FEMA. The Chain of command is Craig Fugate ==> Cousin Janet ==> Obama. Responsibility really does rest with her.
Cousin Janet and Fugate are not doing a bad job, so far. Considering how messed up that place is and how they have had to fight to get in there (downed trees, dropped and live power lines, having to restore power to areas with critical distribution points, etc.).
Yeah, there have been some fuck ups. Overall, it's not going bad.
