THAT SOB INSIDER, BOUGHT AND PAID FOR BY CORPORATE SPONSOR GE.....WHAT A SON OF A BITCH......! He didn't interview the others like that!

Bravo Ron Paul.....He had to really have his game on with that questioning.....he did a great job!

He did pretty good, and I have to say that Russert is more fair than most interviewers. He gave him time to answer in many cases.

The same tough Russert every week

One reason I enjoy watching Meet the Press is that Russert is very tough on everyone, and makes the traditional politicians look like the frauds they are. It is not surprising that Huckabee (who was on nearly a year ago when nobody was paying attention) has turned down an offer to appear again when it counts: he is still traumatized, and knows that he can't handle another Russert grilling. Russert was Russert: no unfairness. Paul was Paul: straightforward and honest. It was a good morning.

I thought I heard him say he would be on next week? I was listening from the crapper, maybe I misunderstood.

Russert was tough. I thought it was unfair to keep going back to quotes from 1988. Different time, different party, different circumstances. The philosophy has been consistent, but some of the details may be different. When Ron Paul calls Ronald Reagan a "failure", I think you must consider the scope of the question. Was he a completely failure as a president? No, and that's not what Ron said. Did he push hard enough to decrease the size of government? No. He squandered opportunities to do so. In that sense, yes, he failed to deliver his promises. The stuff about money going to his district was a joke. The point Ron labored to make was the money has already been taken - they are entitled to get a share of it back. That was frustrating.

Here's the thing. Ron Paul's views are strong. If Ron Paul were president, he could not everything he'd like to change about Washington. Not realistic. There is also a legislative and judicial branch. He is not running for king. The point is, the president has the bully pulpit and can set priorities and focus on certain areas of policy. The issue is direction. Do we want to continue down the same path unchecked, or do we need a serious reassessment of policies that have become idols that should be smashed? A libertarian/republican president would be the perfect compliment to the the current government "stew".

I just watched part 1 of rudi and hillary's interview with tim russert...... In all fairness, Tim was noticably softer on hillary and rudi......he gave them more time to speak in between questions.....with Ron Paul, he hurried up the interview.......... quite obvious to me the bias of tim russert....he's an insider.

Paul did fine. I like the fact that he held Russert in check when he was going off on tangents.

Meet the Press is owned by MSNBC which is owned by NBC which is owned by GE, supplier to the military, receiver of billions of $$$ from the federal government. Russert's tone reeked with prejudices against RP. He should be ashamed, but I guess won't be because of the mouth that feeds him. Disappointing.

IDK, his interview hurt Romney. Although some of that can be attributed to Romney.

Yes, I had to chuckle about the advertisement for GE, Boeing, and Fidelity following an interview in which Ron Paul warns against the dangers of Corporatism, the military industrial complex, and the financial-government complex.

I saw Russert interview others. He was tougher on Paul than other candidates - most of his questions attacked Paul as a hypocrite and a charlatan.

Well I know Tim R. needs to put on a show to challenge all the candidates in some why, but he's "tougher" on some more so than others

that is funny!

I've been saying all along that MSM is out to censor Ron Paul. I must say I absolutely loved this interview!

It's easy for us as Ron supporters to say that Tim was being unfair and treating the other candidates different and easier. But every candidate knows that Tim is out to make glaring contradictions using candidates past quotes and news stories. I think Ron did a good job, after all we haven't really seen Ron under real pressure about his record, and this was a much needed eye opener for the rest of the people who don't know who Ron Paul is.

Tim is extremely smart, when Ron questioned back on why Tim doesn't ask the other candidates if they will run as an independent, Tim answered none of the other candidates have ever done so, and it's fact that Ron ran as a libertarian in 88. I think Ron should have stuck with his consistency and not attack the question; other then that I think Ron handled the pressure well.

Remember, Meet the press isn't a show that is designed to improve a candidates image, as hard as it is for supporters to see Ron under pressure, we shouldn’t cry foul, we should be talking about how well Ron did and not how unfair the interview was.

This was a tough interview and I don't think it went well at all... he answered some stuff correctly... all in all, I don't think he HURT himself, but he didn't pick up any new voters today, for sure.

I agree. It was great exposure and a great interview. We can't have our cake and eat it too - complain that Paul gets no attention in the MSM, but when he does, also complain that it wasn't "nice" enough. Politics (and life) isn't "nice" - as expected, it was a tough, honest interview, and our guy rose to the challenge. Spread the YouTubes and keep on working hard, everybody!

I'm not sure what the big deal is about the interview. I like Russert and I defaintely don't think there is a conspiracy going on or they planned to make Ron Paul look bad. Or maybe I'm just bought and paid for? or brainwashed?

I thought I heard him say he would be on next week? I was listening from the crapper, maybe I misunderstood.

Or maybe Huckabee changed his mind and I'm wrong. But his last appearance definitely didn't make Huckabee look good, so I hope you heard right.

When people watch meet the press, they except Tim to point out the contradictions of a candidate, we as supporters made the mistake of expecting Ron to convert Tim, I think it was the wrong mindset. I think a better way to approach this interview was to expect Ron to be put under pressure about past things he's said, and to judge how well he handled the pressure.

Personally, I think Ron handled the pressure very well, he should have laughed and smiled less and he should not have attacked the independent question. I actually had a good idea that Tim would bring up the fact about Ron's earmarks and that his district takes a lot of Federal money. It's a legitimate question and I thin Ron did an ok job putting his position forward, could have been a little more clear on why the ear marks and his district uses Federal funds is not hypocritical, but I think he did fine.

Seriously.... Stop with the "corporate shill" and other conspiracy BS.

IT'S MEET THE PRESS!

Tim Russert is one of the hardest, yet most fair, interviewers out there.

People go on Meet The Press expecting a tough interview, and I think Ron Paul did a so-so job.

Nothing negative, yet not a home run either. (Not knowing the exact numbers when asked about how much money we will lose from eliminating the IRS was not good.)

I think he should finally pay the money and hire a media consultant so he can be better prepared for these interviews.

In the end, it would make him more electable.
