And therein lies the true problem. It takes significantly more substantive action than mere bitching and moaning and casting a worthless vote now and again. But that’s about all the self-proclaimed defenders of liberty seem willing to do.

The saddest part is that the job could be accomplished with significantly less drastic action, and significantly less risk than most imagine if they’d just follow the clearly laid out blueprint that’s been sitting in plain sight now Waiting for them for almost two-and-a-half centuries.

So Trump wins the election while in prison and then as president, pardons himself.

I realize that Trump is controversial, but they will do this and worse to any credible candidates you support in the future. It's pretty obvious what's happening here.

What a small world. Hunter Biden, Burisma, Ukraine, and now Trump's Judge...

Judge Chutkan: Hunter Biden associate, appointed by Obama, throwing the book at Jan 6 protesters.

Do you know Judge Chutkan who will preside over the new Trump indictment worked with Hunter Biden??

Tanya Sue Chutkan (born July 5, 1962) is a Jamaican-born American lawyer and jurist serving as a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. She is the judge overseeing the criminal trial of former U.S. president Donald J. Trump over the events leading up to the January 6, 2021, United States Capitol attack.
...
From 1987 to 1990, Chutkan was in private practice at the law firm Hogan & Hartson (now Hogan Lovells). From 1990 to 1991, she worked at the law firm of Donovan, Leisure, Rogovin, Huge & Schiller. From 1991 to 2002, she was a trial attorney and supervisor at the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia. In 2002, Chutkan joined the law firm of Boies, Schiller & Flexner, becoming a partner in 2007. Her practice focused on complex civil litigation and specifically antitrust class action cases.[3][4]

Her husband, Peter A. Krauthamer, served as a judge on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia from 2012 to 2023. They have two sons.
...
In summer 2017, Chutkan presided over the Imran Awan and Hina Alvi fraud case.
...
On April 26, 2019, Chutkan sentenced Maria Butina to 18 months in prison for conspiring to be an unregistered agent of the Russian government in the United States.
...
On November 9, 2021, Chutkan denied former President Donald Trump's plea to keep records from being released to the House Select Committee investigating the attack on the Capitol on January 6, 2021.[33][34] The D.C. Circuit affirmed that decision, and the U.S. Supreme Court declined review.

In April 2014, Hunter was asked to join the board of Burisma, the largest independent natural gas producer in Ukraine. At the time, Hunter was of counsel with Boies Schiller Flexner LLP [fn 1] (“Boies Schiller”), a major U.S. law firm, and was advising Burisma on its corporate reform initiatives, an important aspect of fueling Burisma’s international growth and diversity. Vibrant energy production, particularly natural gas, was central to Ukraine’s independence and to stemming the tide of Vladimir Putin’s attack on the principles of a democratic Europe.

To further its goals of independence, Burisma sought to adopt standards and practices traditionally employed by Western companies. At Hunter’s urging, Boies Schiller engaged Nardello & Co., a leading global investigative firm, to assess, among other things, Burisma’s corporate structure and governance practices. Burisma agreed to pay the legal expenses of Boies Schiller to support Hunter in developing corporate reform initiatives.

Mark my words:

Trump WILL be convicted.

Biden WILL commute his sentence.

Trump WILL take to the internetz to support things like more war, spending, gun laws, etc as part of the deal.

Donald can't make it on the inside.....

He knows it......

They know it.......

It is just going to be more of Don's "Art of the Deal" and winning bigly.

And ALL right wingers are domestic terrorists from then on.

I seriously doubt that. I think more likely convicted, fined and barred from holding office. Biden, well whoever is pulling Biden's strings wants Trump in the race so Biden can cruise to an easy win. So don't expect a conviction before the election. Trump has been known to delay trials for years. He is old overweight and likely not in perfect health. He could easily die before all these cases are complete.

I suppose there are many scenarios of how this will pan out.

I'm putting my money on a Biden win and an eventual Trump conviction.

Donald will do whatever he needs to do to secure a commutation of his sentence.

All of this is quite an example of just how far down the cliff we've fallen.

Exactly.

Set aside Trump's obvious failings as a politician or chief executive and understand that this is South America, Banana Republic, coup shit going down.

All these indictments and you'd think Trump would be using this as an opportunity to show all his cards and put all this nonsense to rest. The fact that he doesn't tells me he's got nothing.

No it's not. He broke the law multiple times and is now being prosecuted. Sure you can say other preisdents in the past have broken laws as well and this is selective prosecution, that doesn't mean Trump is innocent.

None of this really matters, Trump will never be president again regardless of the prosecutions. He doesn't have the support he once did.
