Trump Changing His Position on Immigration

https://x.com/EmeraldRobinson/status/1804126143156514886

This is ridiculous fake news and you should delete your post. Trump has always been for merit based immigration, he's talking about students that come to our country legally on student visas to go to school here. Of course Congress would have input and there would be degree restrictions, the fact that the interview didn't expand on that and for massie to assume Trump wants 2yr poli sci majors getting green cards is totally imaginary BS.

... and for massie to assume Trump wants 2yr poli sci majors getting green cards is totally imaginary BS.

If Massie says that's what existing law says, that's an educated statement. If he thinks that's the only kind of legislation we could expect from Congress, that's an assessment born of experience. And if he thinks Trump could settle for such just so he can say he signed something, based on his record, I say that's a good call.

The man said what he said, and said it outright. Given the state of colleges and universities in this nation today, I don't know how he could propose letting them be the sole arbiters and de facto gatekeepers with a straight face, but he did. If you want to argue that your candidate doesn't know what the hell he's saying half the time, go ahead. It's a big club; the vast majority of Democrats are doing the exact same thing.

This is how Massie gets on peoples shit list and never accomplishes anything. He could have said 'I agree with Trump. But I would advocate for degree restrictions, WE don't want 2yr political science majors that don't help our country automatically getting green cards". Instead, he immediately drama farms on X and lies and makes shit up that Trump didn't say.

This is how Massie gets on peoples $#@! list and never accomplishes anything.

He accomplishes a lot. He has accomplished more since he got on Trump's shit list than he had accomplished before that.

It's your priority that he take your orange god by the hand and try to make something useful out of him, not Massie's. Massie, having met the man, obviously has less derangement than you do about whether that's even possible.

Folks like spudea can't wait to "legalize" them so that they pay their "fair share" to grooowwww the government.

Then there folks like Anti Federalist and Swordsmyth who will be on stand-by to shoot-to-kill on site.

Me, I would just let them earn a buck, spend money on stuff to support businesses, and not think twice if their wages weren't taxed at all. But, that idea isn't too popular here in 'Merika.

You'd also let them find their own way here and sink or swim, instead of having their fare, room and board paid by taxpayers.

Republicans keep forgetting that these things are even things. Yes, your government does these things, and Trump doesn't sound like he'll do any more to stop it than he did last time. More recruiters to bring them just means more cops are needed to stop and frisk them -- and us -- after they arrive. Suits Trump.

In fact, he almost sounds like he'll forgive their student loans.

It's already well known that Trump is nothing more than an opportunist. Except, he keeps opportuning on the government and globalists behalf, while you and I get to pay for it all.

Whatever sounds good, they're going to support and vote for him anyway.

Massie is simply accurately restating exactly what Trump says he's for in the video posted in the OP.

Wrong, types of degrees were never brought up in the video, so it's wrong to imagine Trump supports something he didn't say. Trump was clear he wants highly skilled students that create businesses and jobs that benefit our country to be eligible.

Anyone who looks at the political landscape in the Western world and says "what we need is to encourage more college" is absolutely, positively, without fail NEVER going to get my vote.

Granted, Trump has had that position, just like every politician says that they support "legal" immigration. Going against the US Chamber of Commerce is like going against AIPAC.

The change in this interview was Trump emphasizing that 2 year degrees would qualify.

And my problem with the entire concept is that these politicians look at someone like Elon Musk and say "it would be tragic not to give someone like this a green card and eventual citizenship". The problem being that people like that are rare. They are an exception, not the rule. Making gross generalizations and thus policy based upon the top 1% is foolish.

Educated people are as or more retarded on avg tan our current low infomation population. Exceptions could ne made for surgeons and parmacists or someting but overall I wouldnt expect em to add anyting overly positive. Universities are full of marxists.

Trump included all college degrees, regardless of type.

The example Massie gave was one example of a degree that would meet Trump's criteria.

Assuming there's such a thing as a two-year degree in political science. I've never heard of that. But if it exists, it would qualify for what Trump says he's for in the OP.

Granted, Trump doesn't mean it, just like he doesn't mean it when he says the things you agree with either. But it's what he said.
