Tricorner hats as symbol of idea-based revolution

Here's an idea: During the Bill of Rights-Boston Tea Party weekend, folks who are handing out tea bags, literature and rallying could wear tricorner hats.

Tricorner hats are the pre-eminent symbol of the Sons of Liberty and the American Revolutionary era. They are prominently featured in the graphic that was on the teaparty07 site yesterday before it went down altogether and they could provide an instant association in everyone's minds linking Dr. Paul to the founding fathers and the constitution. The hats also would be a good visual to get extra press coverage. People could put "Ron Paul" buttons or stickers on each of the sides.

Many people have these left over from their kids school. They are also easy to buy all over the place. For example: $15 at http://jas-townsend.com/product_info.php?cPath=6&products_id=257 or cheaper at any costume shop.

I tried to post an image but couldn't figure out how. Still, you all know what the hats look like. (The townsend site has a picture if you don't.)

How 'bout puffy shirts?

I think dressing in costume would make us look silly. Sorry.
