...Headlining act announced, yet no increase in ticket sale momentum? Well, at least no one can say people came for the bands.

I don't think most Sara Evans fans know about it yet. When they find out those remaining tickets should go fast.

Hey folks, 10,000 Ron Paul supporters at the Rally ain't nothing to sneeze at. I am going to enjoy the folks who show up and not worry about the ones who don't. As long as we all do our part, the Rally will be a huge success. One good thing about having a smaller crowd is the lines will not be as long at the toilet. At my age that is important :o).

I think people were expecting someone BIGGER. I dont even know who the hell the lady is BUT not really my point in going either BUT I can see how many would be disappointed.

That is like Obama saying Oprah will be there and then when you get there you see whoopi.

I don't care about the headliner acts personally BUT having an actual LARGE performer could have gotten NON political people to show up WHICH is what is needed to expand this effort.

If we keep playing and having events for ourselves then it has the same effect of churches and the pastors preaching to their congregation without ever going out to locate NEW people to preach to.

It appears ticket sales actually slowed after the announcement.:(

Jesse

I am wondering what people from outside MN think of having Jesse Ventura speak at the rally. As someone from MN and who at the time voted for Jesse, I was dissapointed that he was added to the list of speakers. Not so much me personnally but the fact that he is pretty much now viewed as a clown here by the media and population. I think as soon as local people see his name on the list they take the rally much less seriously.

Funny. I have heard the exact opposite from people in Minnesota. I am sure the media jackals don't like him, since when did that become news? But the average Minnesotan loves him.

Very well stated. Getting a headliner band would cost more, but you also get a larger audience to pack the arena and bigger media attention. It's a you gotta spend money to make money sorta thing.

Take for example we have 10,000 tickets already sold say if a big named performer was added that sales increase another 5000 tickets. At $25 a pop you just grossed another $125,000. Every 1000 tickets = another $25,000 That could probably cover the price of booking the big named act alone.

Is this a concert or a freedom rally with speakers?

If people buy tickets strictly to see the performers, then they will show up right before the performance and leave right after.

How many people will the media see that are attending for Ron Paul and the freedom rally *without* the performance? How many people will be attending each speaker's presentation?

What do you think the media will report?

Also, what in the world is costing $1 million dollars? No amount of ticket sales could have ever covered that amount.

So, where is that money coming from? Out of the $4 million dollars in HQ donations that were transferred to the Congressional office?

If they want entertainment, let them go see RAM, also at the Target center. If they want to show a physical overshadowing of the RNC, that's what the Rally is for.

Good questions.

Seriously, I don't think you are suppose to ask questions like this. :D

The money is coming from somewhere obviously, but of course not from the ticket sales alone. Why 1 million? I don't know. Seems like an exaggeration to me.
