I saw this on another board, and thought I would share.
Something to think on.
Sort of a reality check.
There are two spiritual dangers in NOT owning a farm. One is the danger of supposing that breakfast comes from the grocery, and the other that heat comes from the furnace.

I have my garden planned, and just have to decide between canning or dehydration.

The fireplace needs to be fixed though. It's not a farm, but I do the best I can with what I got.

Every time I throw a log on the woodstove, chopped from my own woodlot, and think "there's another dollar" I smile.

I keep 12 acres in central NH, chickens, an acre and a half in garden, fruit trees and thinking of a goat or two, maybe a couple of head of cattle next year.

Work? My god, more than I can handle at times.

Worth it? Hell yes!

I am nowhere near planting yet, But Oh am I ready.

I shovelled all the snow off my bulbs as I had to see Spring. They are all blooming but was shocked to find out it is Easter tomorrow.
We finally have our gardens clear but way to wet to plow.
The guys got the old truck out so we are not snowed in now. They had to walk 8 miles to have a friend to take them to town.

I enjoyed your blog.

Nice looking blog.

I left a comment.

Thanks. It's not really much, I am not a writer, just the ramblings and happenings of my life since I got a computer.
It wasn't political before Ron Paul, but then it had no reason to be.

I can't wait for spring. it takes it longer to get to me.
I should be able to plant round the 1st of June.
Frost got me last year when I tried to push it early.

No wonder I think you're swell--you're a Ron Paul guy, AND a car guy! What kind of old cars?

Thank you.
Hey, I'm just this guy, ya know.
I"m old school motor head. I fix whatever comes my way.
I have owned a couple, but none right now. Just the Farm beaters.
