Thom Hartman doesn't 'like' Ron Paul for President. I heard him last week on the radio saying he didn't agree with Ron getting rid of a lot of our government services, like he said Ron Paul would get rid of the Public Library, etc.

Does anyone know which candidate Thom Hartman endorses? Also, what are his views on other topics?

The reason I'm interested is because someone on another forum I post on has been 'bad-mouthing' Ron Paul, saying she doesn't like him because he wants to get rid of Social Security, Medicare, Disability, and all those types of hand-outs, that she thinks are just great. So now I know where she gets her views from -- Thom Hartman. That's why I want to know what his issues and views are. Any dirt on him, etc.?

Thanks.

um...around here, we have county libraries, not federal libraries....not sure how the president can close my library...lol

He is in love with all the Dems running, doesn't really matter. He was bombarded with calls regarding Ron Paul one morning and was really pissed. He went on a tirade about how "all libertarians are are Republicans that want to smoke pot, that's it people that's all they are Republicans that want to smoke pot". Then he accused Republicans of running to libertarianism to hide their guilt for the neocon sham (as opposed to awakening).

I lost a lot of respect for him there but I do understand why he said that after getting so many natural calls for Ron Paul.

The dems are terrified of him, he'll beat the TAR out of them in the debates if he wins the nomination.

I have a feeling he wouldn't handle Ron Paul in his normally respectful way. He usually is cordial and encourages debate with opposing views or conservatives, at least superficially. Much more so than a so called "right wing" talk show host would do. If Ron Paul goes against Hartman I hope he's ready to really debate and not do his usual soft spoken radio voice. The progressive democrats are flocking to him in droves but Hartman will be very aware of that.

If I recall correctly, THom Hartman wrote the "What would Thomas Jefferson do?" book. His book applied a seriously socialist slant to my own personal favorite President. His non-support of Ron Paul is simply another indicator that he does not grasp the true meaning and intent of the Constitution.

This saddens me, as I consider myself a fan of Thom Hartmann, though he does generalize too much about conservatives. I think the first time I actually sensed a rift between his logic and reality was when he once said, like he very often does on his program, that liberals believe human beings are inherently good, while conservatives believe they are inherently untrustworthy and selfish. This doesn't jibe though, because if liberals really viewed humanity as altruistic, why would they support involuntary taxation? Wouldn't they find the faith for mankind necessary to trust that private charities and individuals would do their part to aid the less fortunate among us?

I'm not even an economic conservative/libertarian myself, but this struck me as odd.
